Splinterlands Diary: Gold League Struggle and a Dream Night!

Hello, all my gaming friends. For the past month and a half, Splinterlands has been an integral part of my life. When I started playing the game, it was just a curiosity, but now it has become a deep passion for me. I play Fortune (Frontier) and Modern Mode as part of my daily routine. I am gradually building up my small deck, hoping to one day make a name for myself in a big tournament.

I am currently in the Gold I League (rating 3,020), which is quite an honour for a new player like me. But last night was the most memorable and emotional for me in this month-and-a-half journey.

An Unexpected Surprise: Weekly Frontier Draw

Those of us who play regularly know that by battling every day in Fortune Mode, we get some 'Frontier Entries'. A lottery or draw is held every week with these entries. To be honest, I never thought that my name would be in this lottery. I was just collecting entries according to the rules.

But when I opened the game last night and checked the draw results, my heart sank. I couldn't believe it! I won the weekly draw and received an amazing card as a reward—BLACK WIDOW.

Reward Card: Black Widow (Level 5)

The biggest surprise was the level of the card. Usually, level 1 cards are received as rewards, but I directly received a level 5 card! To upgrade a common card to level 5, you have to burn many cards, which I got absolutely free.

Importance of the card and my analysis:

Unit: Death Splinter.

Stats: This is an 8 Mana card, which has 2 Magic Attack, 2 Speed, and 6 Health.

Ability - Slow: The biggest strength of this card is its 'Slow' ability. It slows down all the opposing team's monsters. Speed is a big factor in Splinterlands; slowing down your opponent means they're more likely to miss attacks and get a chance to attack before your team. This card will make my 'Death Deck' much stronger in tough Gold League matches.

New addition from the market: Infernal Firestorm

I was so excited about the Weekly Draw that I decided to sharpen my deck a little more. I spent my pocket tokens on the market to buy a monster card from the Fire unit—INFERNAL FIRESTORM.

Why did I buy this card?

It's a Legendary card, and its mana is 10. It can be a game-changer in high mana (99 Mana) matches.

Stats: Its 5 armour and 9 health make it a solid tank. It also has 2 magic attacks.

Ability - Flank: The main reason for buying this card is its 'Flank' ability. If I put this card in the first position, my monster in the second position will get the 'Reach' ability. That is, I will be able to put a powerful melee attacker in the second position that normally cannot kill from the second position. This will radically change the strategy of my fire deck.

My Future dreams

Reaching the Gold League in just a month and a half and adding such a great card collection—all in all, I am very excited. Using Black Widow's slow debuff and Infernal Firestorm's flank strategy, I am now dreaming of the Diamond League.

I believe that this small card collection of mine will one day be very large. Splinterlands is not just a gam; it is now a testing ground for my patience and strategy. I need your blessings and love on this journey.

See you on the battlefield!
