Splinterlands Gaming Journey: Opening Rebellion Pack for the First Time
How are you all my friends? With the help of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology, the 'Play-to-Earn' gaming sector has undergone a revolutionary change. One of the top and most popular games on this list is 'Splinterlands'. After playing this game for a long time and understanding its mechanics, I felt like doing something a little different. I decided to go beyond the usual deck building or participating in battles and open the new and exciting "Rebellion Pack" of the game.

Usually, buying such packs can seem a bit difficult or expensive for new players or players with a low budget. I have never taken the risk of opening a pack directly by spending so many dollars or credits before. However, out of curiosity and the urge to test my luck, I decided to spend a little more dollars and credits and buy a premium pack for the first time. Today, I will share with you the entire pack opening process and the experience inside it.

Purchase decision and pack purchase process:
Going to the shop section of Splinterlands, I selected the Rebellion pack. This pack can be purchased in-game with either Credits or Dark Energy Crystals (DEC). As you can see in the screenshots, each pack required about 1,989 Credits or about 6,281 DEC. I checked my account balance and decided to complete the transaction through the Hive Keychain wallet. The pack purchase was successfully completed through the Hive Keychain 'Active Key' or transaction confirmation. The entire process was very smooth and a great example of a blockchain transaction.

Pack opening section and extreme excitement:
After purchasing the pack, it is deposited in the game's 'Booster' or opening portal. The special thing about the Rebellion Pack is that each pack contains 5 cards, with at least one of them guaranteed to be 'Rare' or better. To improve the quality of the cards, I had Alchemy Potion and Legendary Potion activated on my account, which increases the chances of getting Gold Foil or Legendary cards.
The animation that appears on the screen after placing the pack on the portal and clicking the Open button is very exciting for any gamer. The scene of a red glowing box tied with a heavy iron chain slowly opening was great. Then five cards were deposited upside down on the screen, waiting to be flipped or revealed.

Revealing the cards and the reality of fate:
With a lot of hope in my chest, I turned five cards upside down one by one. But unfortunately, fate was not on my side this time. The 5 cards I got from the pack are:

Daigendark Hunter (Rare): This is a 6 mana Death Element or Dark Force rear card. As the only rare card in the pack, it is quite good, but its market value or practical utility is not very high at the moment.
Nimbledook Scout (Common): A common card of the Fire Element, with a mana cost of 2.
Chaos Animator (Common): Another common card of the Death Element with 3 mana.
Sultry Barmaid (Common): A 5 mana Water Element common card.
New Sskah Drudge (Common): A 5 mana Death Element common card.
Although I got a 'Rare' card as guaranteed by the pack, the remaining 4 cards were of the Common category. Unfortunately, I did not get any Gold Foil or Legendary cards.
From a financial or card value perspective, this opening may not have been profitable for me. Because the current market value of the cards is much lower than the dollars I spent. However, through this incident, I faced an important reality of blockchain games. Opening card packs in NFT or crypto gaming is a lot like a lottery—here, just as it is possible to profit by getting a huge value card overnight, there is also the risk of facing losses if you do not get the card you expected.
Nevertheless, the experience of opening a pack for the first time by spending more dollars added a new experience to me as a gamer. The animation of the game, transaction security, and the excitement of the moment were truly enjoyable. To those who are thinking of opening a pack in Splinterlands or any other NFT game, I would say—always try with your own extra budget, which you will not lose much if you lose. Enjoying the fun and thrill of the game should be the main purpose.
