Splinterlands Guild Brawl: An Exciting Battle Journey for YGG Brawlers (Niðavellir)
In the current blockchain gaming or NFT game world, ‘Splinterlands’ is not just a simple card game; it is a huge digital battlefield. Here, every move, every card selection and the right strategy at the right time are the key to victory. Although Splinterlands has many modes, ‘Guild Brawl’ or guild war always creates a different excitement. The joy and responsibility of fighting for the honour of your guild is much greater than individual battles. I am currently fighting as a dedicated member of the “YGG Brawlers (Niðavellir)” guild. The motto of our guild is— “Brawl Until You Fall!” That is, do not give up until the last moment. I recently participated in a brawl event, and today’s detailed discussion is about my experience and tactics there.

When a player is part of a strong guild, his confidence increases a lot. Our guild "YGG Brawlers (Niðavellir)" is currently in a very good position. Looking at our guild's recent achievements, we have collectively won 137 'Crowns' in the last Brawl. This is the result of the teamwork and hard work of each member of our guild. Not only that, but each member has been awarded 7,829 'Merits' and 91,043 'Staked SPS' as a result of actively participating in Brawl. These Merits are very important to us, as they can be used to purchase Gladius Packs, which provide unbeatable advantages in Brawl matches. In addition, our 'Focus Lodge' has now been upgraded to level 10, which has increased our guild's capabilities several times.

I participated in a total of 8 matches in this Brawl event. The screenshots show that the final outcome of the battle was still quite a while away. I was fighting these battles under ‘Fray 4’. The biggest challenge of Brawl Battles is its limitations. Each fray has certain card sets or levels, within which you have to assemble the best team. Here, any wrong card selection means losing all points, so I had to think a lot about each card positioning.
Of the matches I participated in, I specifically observed the image of three matches. Each match had a different ‘Mana Cap’ and a complex ‘ruleset’.

First, there was a match with a 19 mana cap. In short-mana matches, the opportunity to select cards is very limited. Here, you have to choose cards that are capable of providing high attack or defence at a low cost. The 19-mana battle is mainly a battle of speed. I tried to maintain a balance so that the first-line cards can quickly destroy the opponent.

Second, there was a 35-mana match, which was a medium-sized fight. A good balance between defence and attack is needed here. In this match, I relied on some cards whose special powers or abilities provide support to other cards in the team. The opportunity to use big dragon cards or strong element cards can be used here nicely.

Third, 57 mana was a huge fight. High-mana battles have free rein to use many big and powerful cards. Here, I got the opportunity to bring out my trump cards. Especially, I arranged cards with high health and armour in front and strong attacking cards in the back. In a 57 mana match, the right combination of abilities of each card paves the way for victory.
According to the new update of Splinterlands, the ‘Tactics Stage’ or strategy stage shows great intelligence. Here we arrange our team through ‘blind selection’ or blind selection. There is no way to know what cards the opposing team will bring to the field, but we have to make a prediction by looking at their past game records. Choosing the right ‘Archon’ or tactics here is half the battle. In every match, I tried to choose tactics that could counter the potential attacks of the opposing team. Especially when the opponent’s power rating is 500,000 or more, the fight becomes even more stressful.
Our opponents in this year’s Brawl were powerful guilds like [RKO] Outta Nowhere, Legendary Raptors, and [KOG] Aegis of Glory. Each guild has many experienced players. But when our guild name is ‘YGG Brawlers’, there is no word in our dictionary to back down. I tried my best in both ‘Enemy Arena’ and ‘Home Arena’ to stay at the top of the points table.
Guild Brawl is not just a digital card game; it is a big platform for sacrifice and mutual cooperation for the team. At the end of each Brawl, when we get the crowns and merits as a result of our hard work, it is difficult to express the joy in words. The experience of these 8 matches has taught me a new way of applying the maximum strategy with limited resources. I hope that I can maintain my best performance in the upcoming brawls and help the YGG Brawlers (Niðavellir) guild to the crown of victory. Our winning streak will continue, and each new brawl will make us more experienced. Victory is guaranteed to us!
