Update on DEC dips are gold

An update on this post.

It’s been about 2 months since I wrote DEC dips are gold, how did that fare? Where are we now and are DEC dips still gold?

It’s been a tumultuous time in the market, the price of Bitcoin tumbled down 17k margin and kept ranging there the entire time up until today as Bitcoin breaks through 18k for the first time in a while. So due to this, the market is in a bit of green frenzy,

But asides this, $DEC recently touched a low of $0.0053, but before I continue let’s do a quick recap, tremendous efforts are still being made to ensure DEC goes to its peg, it’s been a hassle, the highest we saw DEC touch was around $0.0076 before it all came crashing down.

A proposal is being put forth to a vote of the SPS stakeholders to implement a system of burning DEC or VOUCHER tokens in order to receive a discount on future purchases within the Splinterlands game which will require burning DEC tokens.

Many community members were disgruntled at this as they thought creating another token to absorb excess inflation of one token was counterproductive, personally, I felt adding another token into the already multi tokened ecosystem was making an already complicated game more complicated.

And down the price of $DEC went until today as we watched a recovery to 0.0060 price levels. Was this the result of that latest proposal taking effect on $DEC or is it just the market frenzy as everything is going up even Hive?

It’s hard to tell, but based on the sentiment from the latest proposal, I would be holding out on picking up DEC dips for now. However, if the proposal only beats the understanding of most of us and is actually feasible, then we can say this dip is gold and is still worth picking up at 0.0060.
