Are ECR changes affecting the price of $DEC?

Are ECR changes leading to more $DEC burns?
I went into battle today after another long hiatus from playing, just for the sake of curiosity, I wanted to check out the ECR update because here on Splinterlands, you blink one time, you loose out on a ton of updates and I’ve been blinking a lot, tech world has been really distracting, with ChatGPT and other AI bots around, there’s just always stuff to do.

So playing after a long time means you’ll have to start from Novice level and at the novice level, you don’t really get any rewards for winning battles, rewards start from Bronze level, however, unlike other times where it takes ages to get out of the Novice league, it didn’t really take a lot of time this time, it seems there are lesser bots populated in the system.

Speaking of bots, one reason why Splinterlands was bot friendly was so that human players could always find an opponent to play against at any time, but as you know, give people an inch they will take a mile, some began to exploit this and farm rewards, so the Splinterlands team together with players decided to tighten the leash on them and the new ECR was as a result of it.

Is it working? From the few battles I’ve fought, it seems so but I can’t really say for now because Ofcourse I’m battling in lower league and I don’t know what playing is like in the higher leagues. But what I know is that back when bots where full citizens in the land and I still had a ton of powerful cards, it was very hard to leave lower levels, this has sort of changed.

Due to the change in ECR, number of playable battles per day are capped at 50. Have I ever played 50 battles in a day? To be real, I don’t even know, I don’t count, who counts? The only time you know when it gets to 50 is when you’re out of ECR and and have to wait till the next day. The good thing is that the limit can be increased but one will have to pay with DEC.

But what impact does this have on game play? Do players find it easy to find opponents at anytime, I didn’t have a problem with this though, each time I clicked on battle I got matched up quickly so it’s either there are still bots or number of active players have drastically increased.

Whatever the case maybe it seems something may just be working right. And if this is so then we might just get a lot of DEC being burned if people want to keep playing. Let’s see how this goes in a couple of months. The price of DEC has been steady around $0.008 up from $0.007 range the last time we wrote about this. So what gives?

I wonder how you are successfully able to make it away from the game and come back again, I wish I can do that sometime so I can focus on something else too. I guess my level of addiction to the game surpasses yours 😃

As for the DEC, I am yet to check how it is doing in the market following the introduction of the new Energy system, I thought I would have bought some Energy by now but no, I have been managing it fairly well.

I can’t even disagree with you on that lol. I see your posts almost everyday and I cheer you on from here. Just imagine how much more addicted you’d have been if you were competing in championship league and rewards were great 🥵

Lol, tell me about it! would have been really paying off big time now if I had gotten in earlier on Splinterlands, I will be playing in the Championship league by now. The prices we pay for not being early adopters.
