Hey everyone! In my previous Splinterlands post, I shared my exciting journey into Guilds, my first brawl, and the thrill of my first win. I'm delighted to report that I'm continuously improving in the world of brawl-ing, and I've even managed to acquire my first Gladius Case, which contained a Gold foil card, my first Gladius gold foil card, Whoop🙌 . Remember, never give up – one might just be this close to hitting it!

Over the past week, everything seemed to be going well in the realm of Splinterlands as regards DEC's price, until a sudden, sharp drop occurred. This downturn was the result of a massive loss of Splinterlands assets, specifically DEC and SPS, totaling $200k combined.

The cause? A security breach due to negligence on the part of the team. Although this figure may not seem as significant compared to other losses resulting from hacks in the web3 space, it has nevertheless had an impact on prices.

Thankfully, this hack wasn't due to inferior coding or a critical bug within the game's system. For comparison, consider the time Axie Infinity's Ronin bridge was hacked, resulting in a staggering $600 million loss – a setback from which the game has yet to recover.

In fact, hacks are most commonly found among web3 games and DeFi protocols. Until this recent incident, Splinterlands had managed to avoid such a fate. From what I've gathered, this breach shouldn't have happened, but as someone who's been in this space for a while, I still have confidence in the game and its developers.

The hack inevitably led to a dip in DEC's price, down to the $0.00082 range. However, as many of us know, DEC dips can be golden opportunities. It won't take much for the price to bounce back to its peg, and anyone taking advantage of these dips is likely to lock in profits later on. I recently sold some cards at the lower price point, so I'm also anticipating some gains once the price returns to the peg.

As I continue to hone my skills in the Splinterlands universe, I'm constantly reminded of the importance of perseverance and adaptability. The recent hack may have been a setback, but it's also an opportunity for the Splinterlands team to learn and grow. Just as I have improved in my brawls and card acquisitions, so too can the developers strengthen the game's security measures and regain the trust of the community.

In this ever-evolving world of web3 gaming, it's players and developers must stay vigilant and proactive. As we've seen with the recent security breach, even the best games can fall victim to unforeseen vulnerabilities.

By staying informed, remaining flexible, and embracing a never-give-up attitude, we can overcome these challenges and continue to enjoy the unique experiences that Splinterlands and other web3 games have to offer.

So, my fellow Splinterlands enthusiasts, let's not dwell on the recent hack. Instead, let's focus on the exciting aspects of the game, such as improving our strategies, acquiring rare cards, and enjoying the camaraderie of our Guilds. Moreover, so many other things are coming together within the game.

Together, we can turn this setback into a stepping stone, propelling us toward even greater achievements in the enchanting world of Splinterlands.

What say ye? Battle to you drop folks!!!!🕹🕹🚀🚀🚀🦾

Thanks for reading.

as web 3.0 is growing and hackers are becoming more tactical in smarter in their hacking, making hacking almost inevitable, i think its safe to say that they should be something called web 3.0 insurance.

Yeah I get your point, but it’s very difficult because insurance as is, is a tradfi thing, the kind of way web3 operates is opposed to it as you know

This was an unfortunate event. I like you am glad it was relatively small, and hopefully it will generate some publicity for Hive.

Just hoping...Lemons and Lemonade
