My thoughts about the proposal system on Splinterlands

Every Splinterlands town hall meeting has a way of tickling me off the edge, on one hand I want to speed up the entire development underway and just bask in the glory of getting in early,…..

……but another side of me wants to grind through this building process, live through each moment of blocks being built on top of each other and nurture the growth of the game.

The latest Town hall meeting revealed even more interesting developments in the pipeline, it’s almost impossible to not be excited.

But one thing that most people aren’t even talking about that I think is the biggest most important and most overlooked game changing development in the entire game is the GOVERNANCE and proposal system.

This is what the proposal dashboard looks like, it’s very easy to navigate and vote on proposals. The first proposal went live 7 days ago and was only for a test, however, a new proposal went live today and SPS stakers can vote to get the proposal passed or not.

One SPS equals one vote, so the more SPS one has staked, the more the voters voting power is. The interesting thing about this proposal system is that the community can be more actively involved in the direction and development of the game, infact it takes away the ability of the dev team to enact changes within the game without the knowledge of the community.

I can only imagine the possibilities. The dev team also hinted that the proposal system will be open to the community as well so that players can create proposals and if it’s viable, the community will vote for it and the dev team will implement the changes.

How about creating proposals to burn millions of SPS or DEC or even better, the remaining CL packs!!!!oh yeah, all it takes is a proposal and for the community to support it and boom value is created for everyone. The possibilities are so huuuuuge!

I really want to believe this governance and proposal system will bring about positive growth to the entire SPL economy. If you’ve got SpS staked, make sure to put it to work by voting on the proposals. The success of Splinterlands ecosystem now rests upon the shoulders of everyone in the community with some staked SPS.

What do you think about the proposal system?

Thanks for reading.

Yes indeed! This is something that could be groundbreaking in the coming years! I do not think most of us understand how this can create domino effects all over the place!

If this is the first game that will become decentralized you can call yourself an early adaptor. In combination with a successful game you can keep calm for the rest of your life🤑

Cheers man, thanks for putting the word out there!

Some things like pack numbers are considered core business and can't be voted on. I'm sure burning the rest of the CL packs would be included in that. Packs are a main revenue source for the company.

Yeah I’m not sure how viable it would be but I can say for sure that I heard Aggroed mention it as a possibility during one of the town hall meetings.

I like to vote. The development that will make the real difference will be that the community makes all critical decisions about Splinterlands. Splinterlands is on the right track.

I need to keep constant eye on proposals, I didn't know there's a new one I've been absorbed battling it out on the battlefield.

Governance system? It is going to be interesting making huge impactful decisions through voting 🗳 in proposals.
