Hi! My name is mobydec and I am a newbie here.

We’ll actually, I’ve been a long time lurker, reading and consuming everything about Splinterlands since I first joined last August 2021. I decided to come out of the dark and share my little voice in this thriving community because I feel like I have something to share, and I want to contribute no matter how little I’ve got.

This isn't me. Nope!

It took me this long to write this post because I was so afraid to commit mistakes and be criticized or ridiculed online. But hey, I believe that this community is inherently good and I think we all have one thing in common, and that is the love of this game. So fear, be damned!

This is going to be my very first post here so please be gentle with me though. 😅

Who am I anyway?

I am a farmer actually. But I’ve been following crypto development since 2013. I’ve had my fair share of the ups and busts of the market. Made some money out of it, and got scammed big time as well. I’ve mined, run my very first bitcoin node, staked tokens, joined ICOs, and laughed at the idea of some Dr. being Satoshi Nakamoto.

I am not a video game player. I don’t own a gaming PC nor anything remotely related to video games. In fact, Splinterlands is my very first blockchain game and the only one I am playing.

What motivated me to play this game was my desire to earn more crypto. It sounds selfish. But yes, that’s the honest reason why I came here. What made me continue playing and eventually stay, is the belief that there is something more to the game and the community.

We are in the midst of a bear market and I am saying this to myself everyday, STAY. In fact, this is the time when I decided to dedicate more of my time and money to the game.

Now What?

My account is still a shrimp or krill I should say. It's a million miles away from being a whale. But I am daydreaming of accumulating a significant amount of game assets (thus the name- mobydec). Inch by inch, I might be able to do it. I. Will. Do. It. Credo, I believe.

My portfolio is small, or rather insignificant. But I continue to contribute to this game in whatever way I can.

While lurking, here are the things I have been doing:

1. Staking SPS in game

• SWAP.HIVE:DEC
• SWAP.HIVE:Voucher

3. Rentals

• Rent out some of my cards via splex.gg
• Rent cards for my main account and 2 bots via Splintermate

4. Play

• I play my main account and still not good at it (need to learn a lot).
• I have 2 bots I am trying to experiment with. I want to know and understand how bot services work.

5. Created a Guild - free to join wink! wink! (we are weak 🤑)

6. Becoming visible

• Yeah. By writing this post, I stepped into the light! LOL. Guess I am no longer a lurker.

What’s Next?

Continue doing the things above. I will continue accumulating cards and other game assets. And wait for the next bull run, I guess.

I think that’s all for now. What am I missing? I would love to hear your suggestions or any feedback that would help me become a better part of this community. I’m also open to criticisms or dissenting opinions (just don’t bash my head, please?)
