My Go To Bronze League Farming Strategies for 50% Win Streak Bonuses.

Today I decided to mix it up a little bit from my usual Tournament recap posts to bring you this Bronze strategy guide. I love Splinterlands, but one area where I think the game could use some improvement is the new player experience.

I started playing Splinderlands on January 7th 2022 so I'm familiar with how annoying it can be to get out of Bronze league. A common thing you'll hear in the community is how it's harder to get out of Bronze than it is Silver and honestly, they're not wrong!

Silver takes a bigger investment and more power but it hasn't been totally optimized by BOTS who submit the perfect lineup every time when it comes to the base card set everyone gets to play with.

If you're tired of losing to the optimized BOT lineups over and over this should be able to help you break out of Bronze or if Bronze is your current playground, enable you to make the most of it.

Unfortunately, if you're totally free2play there's not much you can do to get an advantage over the BOTs but I'll show you how to add just a few cards that will up your win rate significantly.

The first card you should consider buying or renting costs $0.13 at the time of this writing or 0.1 DEC to rent.

A lot of people say the Life daily quest is the hardest one to complete in Bronze and you should considering rerolling it if you get it. I find Life can actually be pretty strong under certain circumstances once you add this Tank healing archery monster.

As low as 16 mana you can apply this strategy because that's when you can play General Sloan, Shieldbearer, and the Crystalsmith. The Taunt Shieldbearer provides will prevent any sneaks from killing your Crystalsmith and the Crystalsmith's Tank heal will keep the Shieldbearer alive.

This battle happens to be 18 mana so I add the Herbalist with the extra 2 mana available. If it were 19 mana you could replace the Herbalist with a Scavo Hiring to add repair and an extra layer of protection for your Shieldbearer.

Just make sure your opponent isn't going to spam magic damage if going that route. There's no way to know exactly what your opponent will do of course but if earth is banned that helps. On the other hand, if you see a lot of Obsidian + Magic in their last 5 games played and earth is playable don't risk it.

Even with the benefit of Melee Mayhem our Shieldbearer holds up and as long as the Windeku died Harklaw could never kill us on his own as Crystalsmith can match his damage in healing.

The next strategy requires a few more cards as we're going for a Water sneak team so let's start with Sabre Shark. Sabre Shark costs $1.48 as it's an older Alpha / Beta card and that might be a bit pricey but it rents for 0.1 DEC a day so you can always go for that option instead.

Then we'll need an Elven Cutthroat which goes for $2.53 as of this moment, it's another card from Beta that is a bit pricier but once again a level 1 rents for 0.1 DEC.

Next is the current reward card Pelacor Bandit. At the current market price of 3 cents it's very affordable and with any luck you may have already received one from your rewards chests.

We have one more sneak monster to get and that's the reward card Uraeus which costs $0.61 right now to buy or 0.15 DEC to rent.

Last but not least, the monster that brings the whole team together in the end with it's inspire ability is Demented Shark. Inspire gives +1 melee attack to all friendly monsters. He costs $0.49 for a single BCX or 0.1 DEC to rent.

At 23 mana this Water Sneak Team hits it's peak as one of the strongest lineups you can make. It's just enough mana to play Demented Shark and the 4 sneak monsters with a Hardy Stonefish at the front to absorb a hit or two.

You can play it at 22 mana without the Stonefish and it should be okay but do note that if Demented Shark dies the teams damage drops in half. At 25 mana you can replace the Hardy Stonefish with Cruel Sethropod to upgrade the tank.

Above 25 mana the effectiveness starts to drop as your opponent has more and more mana to solve the sneak problem and nothing really changes for our team.

At 30 mana you can upgrade Cruel Sethropod to Diemonshark for an even better tank but heavy Magic teams with a taunt can burn through your frontline while protecting their squishy mages so keep that in mind.

As you can see, even though our opponent plays a Taunt with a heal and armor repair we have the damage to punch through anyway and once Shieldbearer falls we easily run over the back line.

The next lineup I recommend is a Fire Sneak Team. Because we already bought or rented the Elven Cutthroat and Uraeus we don't need many additional cards for this one but there are a couple good ones starting with Kobold Miner.

Kobold Miner is expensive as it's from the Alpha days at $7.99 so I recommend renting it for 0.1 DEC per day. For a 2 mana card it's pretty exceptional with Tarsa who gives her team +1 melee attack and +1 health. Anytime you can get 2 damage for 2 mana with Sneak you're doing pretty well and this card is one of the reasons you may decide to play the fire sneak team instead of the water sneak team to save mana.

Generally the Water Sneak team with Kelya will beat a Fire Sneak team since the +1 armor buff Kelya provides improves your survivability dramatically, however, the Fire Sneak team has a built in +1 Melee attack from Tarsa so you don't have to play the 6 mana Demented Shark to get inspire.

The other card I'd recommend is Tusk the Wide. He's kind of optional but since he has the Void ability he can absolutely shutdown magic teams and if you see your opponent really likes their Earth Obsidian team you can go Fire Sneak with Tusk the Wide. He is currently $1.58 to own and 0.19 DEC per day to rent.

Here I thought my opponent would go magic so I played Tusk the Wide but they ended up playing a semi typical Tarsa team. As you'll see, Tusk is still a solid tank at this level because 13 health is just a lot to deal with in Bronze.

Even though it's tempting to play the Serpentine Spy you really wanna play as many sneaks as possible so all your monsters are focusing the same enemy down. Here you can see my opponents Spy and Tenyii Striker aren't on the same page.

Now that we have the teams laid out I'm just going to show you a few more battles with these set ups.

image.png

Really common team you'll see in Bronze where they invest heavily to keep the Serpent of Eld alive.

image.png

Here we see the power of the Shieldbearer + Venari Crystalsmith combo at the 16 mana level.

image.png

And again, this time beating one of the most common Life teams you'll see at the Bronze level.

image.png

With rise of the commons ruleset I can't play Tusk the Wide or Uraeus so subbing the Gargoya Lion and Serpentine Spy is okay here.

image.png

For a few DEC in rentals you can gain a huge edge on your opponents and the bots who play with just the basic cards. Be warned though, that eventually, you'll start to run into people with Mylor Crowley, Lorna Shine, Legendaries, and cards higher than level 1 so these strategies won't carry you forever but they should help for now!

When you start to get higher mana level battles think about adding a Sandworm. It's a 9 mana Sneak monster that hits really hard. You can basically just sub it into the Fire Sneak or Water Sneak teams if you have the mana.

Welp that's all I got for now, if you're stuck in Bronze I hope you crush your opponents with ease!

Awesome post, I suck with life in bronze or any rank 😂 so gonna try this combo out tomorrow.

I maybe actually try a few of these out with my bronze rank account and see how they go.

Thanks for sharing

Thanks for saying so! Yeah, I think Bronze is pretty tough but these have been working well for me so far! :)
