Agility and Dodge to save the day

For this week's challenge I will show a card in battle that has only one ability but that it is incredibly useful so that this card is not easily defeated, this card is called Regal Peryton and its only ability is Flying which makes it have +25 % chance to dodge melee and ranged attacks from cards that don't have this ability, in addition the card has a lot of speed which helps even more it in being able to dodge attacks.

Regal Peryton is a card with magic attack from the earth deck that has 5 mana cost, its main uses will be to deal damage and dodge attacks, a good strategy for it is to position it in a forward position when the battle has a low amount of mana available so she will be very useful to defend on the front line because she will dodge several attacks and when mana is not low a great position for her is the last one because then she will be able to be useful dodging card attacks that have the Sneak abilitie for example.

Its Flying ability increases its chances of dodging only melee and ranged attacks so this ability will not be useful against cards that have magic attack as these cards have a 100% chance to hit the target with their attacks. But you can be sure that against melee and ranged cards it will be incredibly useful and I will show this in a battle where it dodges countless attacks.

Another tip that can be very useful is that at level 1 this card has little attack and as it belongs to the earth deck where the Obsidian summoner exists it would be a great choice to increase Regal Peryton's attack.

In this image you have a better view of the Regal Peryton card and its levels, where at level 1 as I mentioned its attack is low but its speed is very high and at level 8 which is its maximum level it already has 3 attack so it causes a lot damage, but what really draws attention is its speed which is 7 at this level and this combined with the Flying ability makes it a card that will hardly receive many attacks.

Now let's go to the battle I mentioned before where Regal Peryton was amazing dodging several attacks, but besides her I used other cards that are:

Obsidian as a summoner that I mentioned before is a great combo for Regal Peryton as it will increase your magic attack by +1.

The Unicorn Mustang which is an excellent card to defend in the first position, especially against cards with magic attack as it has the Void ability that reduces the damage received by these attacks.

The Goblin Psychic which is another card with magic attack and that has the ability Tank Heal that will be very useful to heal my card Unicorn Mustang that is in the first position, in addition this card has high magic attack but its speed is low.

The Regal Peryton I chose to put in third and also last position as I mentioned in the strategy earlier, so I would have an excellent card defending the first position and Regal Peryton protecting the last position.

See the Battle

In this battle my strategy was to keep the Goblin Psychic between the Unicorn Mustang and Regal Peryton because he has low health and his Tank ability will be very useful so he can't be defeated easily. So the Unicorn Mustang that will take most of the damage in the battle will have the Goblin Psychic help with its healing and Regal Peryton will defend the last position by dodging the attacks and making the Goblin Psychic safe.

The summoner chosen by my opponent was Drake of Arnak which grants +1 shield to the cards but this will be a problem only for my Unicorn Mustang because it has melee attack, my other cards have magic attack so they go through the shield and cause damage directly to the health of the cards.

In addition my opponent has the Carrion Shade, Cursed Windeku, Chaos Agent, Life Sapper, Silent Sha-Vi and Undead Badger cards.

The mana available in battle is 23 and there are no rules.

Round 1

In this round the shield wasn't a big problem just for the Unicorn Mustang, my opponent's Carrion Shade card was defeated and Regal Peryton couldn't dodge the attacks of Silent Sha-Vi and Undead Badger who have the Sneak ability and attack the card positioned in the last position. The Psychic Goblin took no damage and healed the Unicorn Mustang for 3 health.

Round 2

In this round the Regal Peryton card started to show its value and it was able to dodge the attacks of Silent Sha-Vi and Undead Badger so it was -3 damage that my opponent could have done in this battle. The Cursed Windeku card has been defeated and the Psychic Goblin continues to take no damage and heal the Unicorn Mustang's health.

Round 3

In this round Regal Peryton couldn't dodge Silent Sha-Vi's attack so she received 2 damage but managed to dodge Undead Badger's attack, Chaos Agent and Life Sapper were defeated.

Round 4

In this round the Silent Sha-Vi card is in the first position so its target is now the Unicorn Mustang, the Regal Peryton card dodges again the attack of the Undead Badger card and the round ends with the Silent Sha-Vi being defeated and the Unicorn Mustang at full health because of the Psychic Goblin's healing.

Round 5

In this round, only the Undead Badger card remains, which is in the first position in my opponent's field and right at the beginning of the round it is defeated by Regal Peryton's attack that has a lot of speed, with that the battle comes to an end.

Conclusion

It was a 3 card battle on my side against 6 cards on my opponent's side so I was outnumbered, but Regal Peryton's positioning was what really made all the difference in the battle because she dodged several attacks and stopped the Goblin Psychic was the target of the Silent Sha-Vi and Undead Badger cards, the Goblin Psychic was of great importance because his healing was what prevented the Unicorn Mustang from being defeated and at the end of the battle I managed to have the victory without having lost any cards and with the Unicorn Mustang having a full life, so having Regal Peryton in battles and knowing how to position her can make all the difference and she is an incredible card to have by your side.

When they soar through the skies, the sunlight catches through their wings and creates rainbows underneath them. Regal Perytons are highly intelligent and consider themselves noble guardians of the natural world, using their magic to help others.
Rihue lay upon a rocky outcropping on the side of the mountain, shivering beneath an overcast sky. He stared at his ruined leg and his broken ankle.

He’d been hunting game and gathering fruits and berries for his wife and daughter who lived back home in their little cabin when he’d slipped and shattered his leg on the rocks. He’d shouted himself hoarse, but it was no use. No one could hear him. No one was coming.

That had been three days ago. His food and water were gone. He couldn’t make it back down the mountain on his own. He was going to die.

But then Rihue heard a call like that of a bird and saw a creature descending through the sky toward him. It had the head and body of a stag, with massive antlers upon its head, but instead of forelegs, two mighty wings grew from its shoulders. Its coat and feathers were white and shades of purple, and it was the most beautiful creature Rihue had ever seen.

The Regal Peryton landed beside him on the outcropping and regarding him with one intelligent eye. Then it lowered itself and, with a nod of its majestic head, extended a wing.

Rihue crawled toward it, up the wing and onto the creatures back. He clung tightly as it spread its wings and soared into the sky, down the mountain, and toward salvation.
