Holidays are special periods, it could be days or weeks, where one stays away from and gazes at leisure time with family relatives. To relax and calm their nerves from the everyday hustling and bustling. Holidays are meant for recreation and are spent out of the home in most cases.

In our part of the world, research has indicated that life span has reduced because people work round the clock and have no time for recreation at all. In Gambia, this research was acknowledged as such, their weekends begin on Thursday. The nationals only work from Monday to Thursday. Everyone is expected to stay away from work.

Let's consider the best time to have a holiday. In doing this we need to have a full grasp of season and time like the sons of Ishakah.

The Best Time To Go On Holiday

For me, the best time to go on holiday is in the months of November and December. February can come into the fold too.
You may wonder why I decided to settle with November and December being the most preferred time to go on holiday. Let me take you a walk as I let you see the reason behind this choice. In this post however, I would like to address us in the need to observe holiday in November and December.

Cheap Groceries
My first reason is that November is the period when you can buy most household items, clothes and other family needed things for cheap. Once December jingles begin to rant the airwaves, most shopping malls like Shoprite and others will be fun their #BlackFriday sales where as much as goods will have a cut of about thirty to forty per cent cut. During that period, one can have enough time to stock the home in preparation for the yuletide. While doing this, remember that you are also cutting costs. This articles are cheap because it in that period that most businesses want to close their account for the year, hence they sell off all their stocks in preparation for anther business year.

Close of Work For The Year
Another reason why November and December is the sweetest time for holiday is that during that period, most organisations are beginning to close for the year. One of such organisations is the construction firms. As such, the house is full and reunion family programmes can be held successfully without anyone having any excuse why they would not be available.

Entertainment Shows
Most entertainers in the music and comedy industry put up shows during this period. Hence, to enjoy the period, holiday should be observed. Remember that me way to relax is to attend shows where you are able to laugh and forget your sorrows. In Nigeria, we have some very great entertainment shows in December. You would not forget the Crack Ya Ribs, Ay Comedy Show, Basket Mouth, Kenny Blaq, Elenu, Sheyi Law, Bovi - Man on Fire among other shows. The music industry also lit up the city with different luncheon and release of new songs. What time more is there to have a holiday if not November and December?

Family & Parties
During this period, most family young people fix their weddings. There is some kind of reverberation during this period. So, young people usually get their weddings fixed then. Nearly every week, there is a wedding to attend. In some parlance, most traditional festivals are held during the period too. Also, some families who have lost their lives usually fix burial and remembrance programs during this time too.

Thorough Cleaning
I know that you may not have considered this special reason why the end of the year is the best time to be on holiday. Most people do not have enough time to clean their homes during the busy period when work takes the most of their time. At times, some people would like to change their curtains and furniture to make their homes welcoming.

Most employers are not conversant with the need to give holiday to their workers, forgetting that holiday breeds productivity. Out of sheer greed, some employers ask their staff to spend all the time they are paid for in the workplace. To the extent some even ask their workers to be at work during special holidays.
