This is very true, children tend to come close to you when they see you doing what you preach or teach. Every week,, in our school, we teach the students on topic on the assembly ground. It is easy to teach the younger generation when the theme is broken down into smaller units, making them learn on thing at a time than making them learn through multi-tasking. For their age, it is not advisable.
This was the case when I was the team lead to speak to the learners about great inventors and their inventions. It was on the third day of the week and a period of serious brainstorming for me. I needed to give the learner the one time opportunity to know what that without determination, there is little to be achieved.

Thomas Edison Was My Rallying Point

Failure comes with success. Yes, there is success in every failure recorded when you look closely.

This was how I started my day with the learners.

Thomas Edison, the great scientist who invented the lightbulb failed for nine hundred and ninety-nine times before he succeeded in this great invention. The world is yet to recover from that great a scientific invention.
If you know what it means to fail for once, then you shouldn't be devastated when you fail again. The worst thing that can happen to a man is the inability to try.
The moment a man stops trying, he begins to diminish. Not trying at all is as meaning to be dead. It is better to try and to fail than to lay low and never try.

Just like Thomas Edison, who was never devastated at his failure though resources are being wasted, he at the end of it all, reached his goal and became a world-recognized scientist whose theories can not be pushed aside in the world of science.

When the

Why Did I Choose This Path?

When I resumed here, as the head of school, I learned that the students are very emotional when they get something wrong. They always want to be right.
My first experience was with a grade nine female student who got the spelling of *covenant wrong, she rather spelt it as convenant, upon hearing that she was wrong, busted into serious crying. I least expected the student to stoop to crying.

Here is my inspiration for her

You are here to learn.

The whole class turned their faces up and looked at me as I continued.

If you knew what you are being taught in school, there won't the a need for you to be here.

Now, I got their attention.

I spoke to them with such a tone that made them know that it is not bad to get something wrong, what matters the most is to understand what made you fail and how to remedy it.

How My Story Inspire My Students

I was in grade eleven, I sat for an exam. Then, I thought I was the best in my class but I got a shocker when the results were released and I failed all nine subjects.

Since it was a trial exams for me, I changed my attitude to studies and imbibed a new method.

At the of my high school at grade twelve, I cleared my subjects in high grades. Till today, I am grateful for the experience of failure that gingered me to succeed.

Just today, the students went for a sporting event. It is the first time they would be involved in a competitive competition out of their school. Four school were present in all and my students came fourth. For the first time in their whole life, they failed and are proud of themselves.

I guess that my little talk of inspiration to the learners have done a lot of good to their emotions and now they will handle failure forthwith.
