Teaching Is Under Threat, Here Is My Plan B. HL #107e2 Prompt

In this jet age, jobs are under threat of technology, artificial intelligence inclusive. I remember in my early senior secondary class, during economics class, our tutor was giving us a talk on division of labour and specialization and how machines are replacing men/labour in bottling companies. It was that terrible. Over the years, science and technology is making discoveries.

Going further, I read in my history textbook how the industrial revolution of the twentieth century made the work of men in the plantations useless. Work that men would do in a hundred days could be handled by machines in a few hours. This trend has continued and even till this age, it has not changed. Inventions will never stop, machines will continue to be invented or developed and new jobs also will arise.

Teaching Is Under Threat

As a teacher, I have realized that teaching is under some threat as scientists have started to build machines that can replace teachers in the classroom. This is the same way Automated Teller Machines deprived bank workers or new entrants into the banking system. We live in a modern world and nothing should take anyone by surprise.

The Invention of Smartboards: Smartboard is the technology that is taking over classroom jobs from the trained teacher. With this invention, the number of teachers that will be employed to guide learners in a school will not be much. Though the technology is expensive and only a few schools can afford it.

What Next Now?

As a village-grown boy, I have something that AI cannot take away from me and that's farming. If not for the white-collar job, I would have remained a farmer. A farmer of cash crops like cocoa, kolanut and palm produce while also engaging in some tuber crops for the family.

It is true that science and technology is turning the world upside down in the area of inventions but I would be venturing into farming and leaving teaching when the matter gets worse than it is already.

Farming and Surfing

From time immemorial, agriculture has been in existence and no development around the world has ever changed that. Though there is advancement, humans have always been part and parcel of the farming processes.

Surfing is the new trend and there are so many opportunities that abide there. One typical one is the advent of the Hive.io which has made a lot of people realize that they can earn better only by developing their writing, drawing, gardening and music talent.

The world is changing and man must change with it.

About every field now have Ai involvement. It is hard truth to be accepted robots and ai have fast working capicity but it didn't mean they are going to replace us completely. There is good need to control things by us. Ai is not our enemy it is our helper. I like your profession, teaching can be done in better way by using AI.

The good old teaching profession, no matter how AI gets introduced, human emotions and involvement will always be required, no doubt AI has been very helpful, but still a place of humans shouldn't be totally eradicated.
