Major Events Of The Day (LPUD, Merge, Hivefest, Riftwatchers)

Today is LPUD day. And about three hours ago, the Ethereum merge took place. Hivefest is starting, and Splinterlands Riftwatchers packs are on sale.

LPUD

LPUD stands for Leo Finance Power Up Day. On the fifteenth of each month, Leo Finance community members show their support for the community by powering up. I was on vacation during LPUD last month. This time I did not neglect to participate. With an application starting this month, LPUD participants will have the chance to earn an LPUD badge issued by HiveBuzz, besides additional Leo Power. I want to point out that one of each month is Hive power up day (HPUD). I have never been able to match the Hive power-ups to that day. I intend to attend the Hive power-up day besides LPUD next month.

Ethereum Merge

The Ethereum merge, which I don't remember how often it was delayed until today, finally happened. Vitalik Buterin's Twitter messages show that there is no problem. Ethereum has thus moved from PoW to PoS. It would be better if they switched to DPoS, but switching to PoS is also valuable. A message shared by Vitalik Buterin on his Twitter account was that the merge that took place today would lead to a decrease of 2 per thousand in electricity consumption in the world.

I am also in favor of Bitcoin switching to proof of stake. There are models where PoW and PoS are used together. DPoS stands before us as an essential alternative. We need the processing power consumed for mining to play games and socialize. Besides, taking crypto opponents' most crucial trump cards would be good.

Generally, expectations are bought, and realizations are sold in the market. There has been no significant fluctuation in Ethereum price so far. We can say that the pricing is horizontal because the expected scenario has come true.

HiveFest

Hivefest starts today in Amsterdam, and I could have been there. I decided to go to Hivefest a little late and had to give up because of visa procedures. There will be no presentations at Hivefest today. Presentations will take place tomorrow and the next day.

Last year's event was held digitally due to COVID-19. And the announcements made at the event impacted the Hive price. The previous year's Hive event was held at the height of the bull market. This year takes place when the bear market seems never to end. Moon boys, diamond hands, and dip buyers are nowhere to be found. I think it's better this way. The excesses in the market have been filed, and those who have established a philosophical connection with crypto are here.

Many prominent names of Hive will make presentations at Hivefest. Many Hive community members will likely be face-to-face for the first time. What essential announcements will be made at Hivefest, and how much will they affect the price? Questions to be answered...

Riftwatchers

In about 6 hours, Splinterlands will have released the Riftwatchers collection.

A total of 3 million Riftwatchers packs are on sale. The package price is set as SPS + 1 VOUCHER for 5 dollars. The collection will include 43 new cards. As with previous sales, there will be unique card airdrops when specific sales numbers are reached. Proceeds from the sale of Riftwatchers packs will go to SPS DAO. Therefore, the higher the number of sales, the more SPS will be withdrawn from the market. More detailed information can be found at this link.

Conclusion

We cannot claim that September was a good month for the crypto market. Indeed, September has historically been a month in which prices rarely rise. It's good that there were no nasty surprises during the Ethereum merge. A significant risk for the crypto market has been removed. However, macroeconomic uncertainties persist. Hence, in the crypto world, the building continues unabated.
