Runi vs Deeplurker

I'm busy reviewing Splinterlands cards these days. Although I went to the champions league last season, I could not repeat the same success this season. After playing hundreds of games, I started to look at some Splinterlands cards with different eyes. One of these cards is Deeplurker, a card I use a lot. Because thanks to the opportunity feature, it attacks the weakest cards of the opponents and inflicts significant damage thanks to its high attack power.

Runi and Deeplurker have a lot in common. Both are melee attack cards worth six mana and have the opportunity attribute. On the other hand, there are features where Deeplurker and Runi excel.

Attack

In terms of attack power, the Deeplurker is superior. Because it has a poison feature and one plus attack power, Deeplurker can inflict two doses of poison on one of every two attacks. So, on average, it applies one dose of poison to the opponent. When we include the poison feature, we see that Deeplurker has 50% more attack power.

Speed

Runi is noticeably slower than Deeplurker, but it's okay when in the attack position. Because, thanks to its true strike feature, Runi can shoot with a hundred percent accuracy. On the defensive side, Deeplurker is more advantageous. Very slow opponents have a chance to evade the Deeplurker.

Defense

Deeplurker has more health. Runi has armor. Therefore, we can consider the situation to be balanced. On the other hand, thanks to the reflection shield feature, Runi is not affected by indirect attacks. So Runi has better defensive features than Deeplurker.

Abilities

Runi can be resurrected after death thanks to the self-resurrect feature. After respawning with one life and one armor, the opponent must shoot Runi twice more. By the way, if its health increases with the healing feature, it can continue to fight for a few more rounds.

In addition to the abovementioned features, Deeplurker has a Demoralize feature. This feature reduces the attack power of all the opponent's melee attack monsters by one.

Price

I used Deeplurker's 10-level stats in the feature comparison. Because Runi is also a max-level card. Currently, the floor price of Runi is $370. The tenth-level Deeplurkers are sold in the Splinterlands market for $71. It is possible to obtain versions of Deeplurker suitable for bronze, silver, or gold leagues cheaper. The Runi is a standard maximum-level card.

Neutral cards offer buyers higher prices as they are used with all the elements. And, of course, we must consider that each Runi is unique.

Scarcity

There are 191k pieces of Deeplurker cards. There are only 3521 runes. Moreover, no two Runes are the same. On the other hand, we need 400 cards to generate a level ten Deeplurker card. Nevertheless, Runi has undisputed superiority in this area.

Usability

Runi, a neutral card, can be used with all elements. There is no robust and cost-effective opportunity card like Deeplurker in elements other than Water and Fire. Runi will substitute 4-5 cards of different elements.

Conclusion

Comparing Runi to Deeplurker is like comparing apples to oranges. They have similar features as well as different features.

In terms of price and attack power, Deeplurker is superior. In terms of defense, usability, and scarcity, Runi is superior. In terms of features, the two cards are similar.

On the other hand, the collection values of Runis are higher due to their uniqueness. It is also essential that they can be used with all elements.

To succeed in Splinterlands, a large collection of cards is necessary. Each card can play a critical role in certain games. Best to have both. :)

Thank you for reading.

I think Runi's are for higher leagues and there is always a strategy to beat Runi imbued deck.
