Luego de haber estado un tiempo en ausencia de mi blog por una falla con mi laptop, estoy de vuelta a Splinterlands y por eso hoy les traigo este nuevo ruleset en un nuevo #BattleMageSecrets, esta semana le toco el turno a Going The Distance, uno de los rulesets mas excluyentes del juego y que requiere dominio sobre las cartas y las mecanicas del juego para poder sacarle provecho, no esperemos mas y vamos con el post.

After being absent for a couple of weeks due to a failure with my laptop, I'm back to Splinterlands and back to Hive and that's why today I bring you this new ruleset in a new #BattleMageSecrets, this week it's Going The Distance's turn, one of the most exclusive rulesets of the game and that requires mastery over the cards and game mechanics to take advantage of it, let's not wait any longer and let's go with the post.

Going The Distance

El ruleset Going The Distance tiene un efecto determinante, y es que no permite el uso de cartas de ataque magico ni Melee, dejando solo disponible a aquellas con ataque a distancia. Al igual que otros rulesets como este, con Going The Distance puedes usar cartas con dos tipos de ataque siempre que uno de esos ataques sea a distancia, como es el caso de Drybone Rayder:

  • Ten en cuenta:

No debes confundir este ruleset con Close Range. Going The Distance te obliga a usar solamente cartas con ataque a distancia, pero estas siguen teniendo sus restricciones naturales, por ejemplo el no poder atacar en la primera posición, debes tener eso presente al momento de elaborar tu estrategia.
Tambien ten en cuenta que no podras usar cartas que no posean ataque. Solo estan permitidas aquellas que tienen ataque a distancia.

¿Cómo sacarle provecho a este ruleset?

Como dije antes, este es uno de los rulesets que mas experiencia en el juego te exige, pues las cartas de ataque a distancia estan pensadas mas para ser un soporte desde la segunda linea, tendras pocas opciones disponibles para enviar una alineacion fuerte asi que debes tener mucho dominio sobre las cartas. La mejor recomendación que te puedo dar es usar como tanque a la carta que mas vitalidad tenga para que dure lo mas posible y trata de darle potencia a tus cartas con el invocador. General Sloan es perfecta en estas batallas.

¿Cómo hacerle counter?

Una buena forma de jugar este ruleset es usando cartas con la habilidad Headwings, tienes hasta 4 posibilidades para hacerlo con este ruleset:

The Going The Distance ruleset has a decisive effect, and that is that it does not allow the use of cards with magic or Melee attacks, leaving only those with ranged attacks available. Like other rulesets like this one, with Going The Distance you can use cards with two attack types as long as one of those attacks is ranged, as is the case of Drybone Rayder:

  • Please note:

You should not confuse this ruleset with Close Range ruleset or ability. Going The Distance forces you to use only cards with ranged attacks, but these still have their natural restrictions, for example not being able to attack in the first position, you must keep that in mind when developing your strategy.
Also have in mind that you cannot use those cards that have no attack type at all. With this ruleset there's only cards with ranged attack are allowed.

How to take advantage of this ruleset?

As I said before on this post, this is one of the rulesets that requires more experience in the game to execute well, because the ranged attack cards are designed more to be a support from the second line, you will have few options available to send a strong lineup so you must have a lot of control over the cards. The best recommendation I can give you is to use as a tank the card that has more vitality to last as long as possible and try to give power to your cards with the summoner. General Sloan is perfect in these battles.

How to counter him?

A good way to play this ruleset for good is using cards with the Headwings ability to weaken the opponent, you have up to 4 possibilities to do it with this ruleset:

Use a General Sloan en esta batalla para aprovecharme al máximo de su bono de ataque ya que todas mis cartas lo iban a recibir.

  • Drybone Rayder como tanque es excelente en estos casos porque ataca dos veces, tiene buena vida y como solo hay daño a distancia, es seguro que la armadura te va a servir.

  • Prismologist tiene muchísimo daño y además tiene blast, lo que la hace un peligro latente, pero también tiene buena vida y buena armadura para aguantar como tanque.

  • Venari Marksrat esta aqui con un proposito clave, morir para hacer mas fuerte a mis otras cartas.

  • Zyriel será el ultimo tanque de mi equipo si llega a ser necesario, con su habilidad para aumentar vida tendrá mucha durabilidad y cuando caiga Marksrat tendra mucho ataque.

  • Silvershield Sheriff es otra carta excelente para combinar con Sloan, gran daño, mucha velocidad y mucha vida.

  • Por ultimo, Pelacor Arbalest que con su daño doble seguro causara estragos en el enemigo.

I used General Sloan in this battle to take full advantage of his attack bonus since all my cards were going to receive it.

  • Drybone Rayder as a tank is excellent in these cases because it attacks twice with Melee damage, has good life and as there is only ranged damage, it is sure that the armor will be useful.

  • Prismologist has a lot of damage and also has blast, which makes it a latent danger, but it also has good health and good armor to hold up as a tank.

  • Venari Marksrat is here on this battle for a key purpose, to die soon to make my other cards stronger.

  • Zyriel will be the last tank of my team if it becomes necessary, with his ability to increase life he will have a lot of durability and when Marksrat falls he will have a lot of attack.

  • Silvershield Sheriff is another excellent card to combine with Sloan, great damage, lots of speed and lots of life.

  • Finally, Pelacor Arbalest that with its double damage will surely wreak havoc on the enemy.

Mi Marksrat fue el primero en caer y eso le vino de maravilla a mi equipo, que ahora tenia dos cartas con 5 puntos de ataque y listas para destruir a mi enemigo, sin embargo no todo fue suerte para mi, ya que el Pelacor Arbalest enemigo ataco dos veces a mi Pelacor Arbalest, dejandolo fuera de combate por completo y ademas este fallo su ataque. Pese a todo, la ventaja era mia al haber eliminado a su carta mas peligrosa, Prismologist.

My Venari Marksrat was the first to fall for my team and that was great for my team, which now had two cards with 5 attack points and ready to destroy my enemy, however not everything was lucky for me, as the enemy Pelacor Arbalest attacked twice my Pelacor Arbalest, leaving him out of combat completely and also this failed his attack. Nevertheless, the advantage was mine as I had eliminated their most dangerous card, Prismologist.

Algo importante que hay que tomar en cuenta es que cuando hay un ruleset permisivo, como Are Your Not Entertained, debes saber cuando usarlo y cuando no, el hecho de que aparezca no significa que tienes que jugar una carta Gladius, significa que puedes hacerlo. Yo en esta batalla no lo use porque no tengo en mi set una carta Gladius que pudiera haberlo hecho mejor que las otras cartas que si envie, eso a veces te puede comprometer en una batalla, asi que estudialo bien.

Something very important to take into account is that when there is a permissive ruleset on the battle, like Are Your Not Entertained, you must know when to use it and when not to use it, the fact that it appears does not mean you have to play a Gladius card on that battle, it means you can do it. I didn't use it in this battle because I don't have in my set a Gladius card that could have made it better than the other cards I did send, that sometimes can compromise you in a battle, so study it well.

Este equipo que arme para esta batalla tenia un daño demasiado alto como para poder combatirlo y eso termino dejando fuera de combate a todas las cartas de mi oponente, que llegaban debilitadas gracias al Aimless y el Blast de mi Prismologist, y mi tanque aguanto hasta el final. Un equipo muy fuerte.

This team that I put together for this battle had too high ranged damage to be able to fight it and that ended up knocking out all of my opponent's cards every turn, which were weakened thanks to the Aimless ruleset and the Blast of my Prismologist, and my tank held out until the end. A very strong team.

Entender los puntos debiles donde le puedes sacar ventaja a tu enemigo es primordial para convertirte en un buen jugador ¡enfocate en mejorar eso y veras como tu winrate aumentará muchisimo!
