Getting into Rulesets on Splinterlands: Earthquake.

As we well know, in each game there will be a different Ruleset that makes them different from each other, in Bronze this is not very seen but from Silver rank it is almost certain that special rules will appear during each battle. One of the most common is Earthquake:

The description of Splintercards is quite good:

Non-flying Monsters take 2 Melee damage at the end of each round.

Using monsters with Flying or Heal is the trick for this ruleset, but if you are unable to choose such monsters, use monsters that have high HP and high damage. Don't keep heal units up front. Shield has a very important role. Using Brighton Bloom as summoner can help in this ruleset. Keep monsters with Flying in last positions when Earthquake has done enough damage to both sides.

But everything stays there? the answer is no, obviously.

How to play with this Ruleset?

This Ruleset is quite versatile in the way it plays, as depending on the cards and the amount of Mana you play with you can be brash and offensive or defensive and cautious, and even with the right circumstances you can do both in the same battle. Let's talk a bit about that.

Offensive:

One of the bests ways to be offensive with this ruleset for, the first rule is clear, cards that have the Flying ability and are offensive, of course. What we are looking for in this kind of battles is to do as much damage as possible in each turn and let the Earthquake do the rest, so we must focus on damage and speed, and there is a specific card that plays a very important role in this technique: Vera Salacia, which grants the Snare ability (When attacking enemies with Flying, removes the Flying ability and cannot miss) But when doing this you must take into account that the only cards that do not receive damage from the Earthquake are the following:

Cards that, although they are quite good, they limit a lot, and that's where another summoner comes in that for me does a much better job because it is of Dragon type and in Earthquake Ruleset can make real disasters: Brighton Bloom. His Dragon type and his ability, let you use any card in the game and this will have the Flying ability, I don't need to say that this is the best thing that can happen in these cases because you can use any combination you want (or can) during these battles without worrying about taking damage each turn.

Here are some cards that are really crazy with the Flying skill:

Defensive:

To play defensively what we are looking for is the opposite of the previous point, here what we want is to receive as little damage as possible and make the Earthquake decimate the opposing team. There are many ways, as the Splintercards statement says, playing cards that have a lot of HP or that heal (or both) is one of the best ways to do this, cards like Elven Defender, Onyx Sentinel, Hero of Beyond, Lord of Darkness or Chain Golem are cards that hold a lot, and others like: Sea Monster, Kron the Undying, Cornealus. Flesh Golem or Gelatinous Cube, which heal themselves, are also very good because as long as they don't take damage in their turns, they will heal the same damage they take from the Ruleset.

Versatiliy:

Versatility in this kind of battles is given, first of all, by using Brighton Bloom, but if you don't have it available there is still an ability that can be very useful here: Immmunity, which makes the monsters are immune to negative status effects, that is, they are not affected by the earthquake. Unfortunately there is no summoner that grants this ability but the cards that have it are very powerful, making special mention to Kralus that with the abilities he has is for me, the perfect card to use in this Ruleset, since he has flying ability and immunity, and his stats combinations make him a great card for this and any battle.

As I mentioned before, one of the great things about this game is that its gameplay is very versatile and therefore it is important to know and master these rules so you can use them to your advantage and win games, remember that these tips are mine, so if you have more ideas to contribute I invite you to leave comments, that's the idea itself to make these posts, that we all help each other. In the next post I will talk about 2 new rulesets and give some tips on how to use them, so what are you waiting for? if you want to start playing Splinterlands click here.
