What is a Guild? What are the advantages of being in one? [ENG-ESP] ¿Qué es un Clan? ¿Cuáles son las ventajas de pertenecer a uno?
As we well know, Splinterlands has a complex system in which several forms of gameplay participate together to create the all world, one of those forms are the guilds. A Guild is a group of players that form a kind of team that represents them all before the other Splinterlands players, but the thing is not only representative, they can compete among them in the so-called: Brawls, to demonstrate their power and of course, get rewards, today in this post I'll talk about that and much more, so welcome to this post.
Como bien sabemos, Splinterlands tiene un complejo sistema en el que participan varias formas de juego en conjunto, una de esas formas son los guilds. Una Guild es un grupo de jugadores que forman una especie de equipo que los representa a todos ante los demas jugadores de Splinterlands, pero la cosa no es solo representativa, pueden competir entre ellos en las llamadas: Brawls, para demostrar su poder y por supuesto, obtener recompensas, hoy en este post te voy a hablar de eso y mucho mas, asi que bienvenidos a este post.
How are the Guilds?
At first you may think that it is not much, but this section has its importance, not for nothing has its own section in the main menu of the game and this is due to many factors. As I said in the previous paragraph, a clan is a group of players who form a team and thus represent the clan, both as in the badge under his name as in the Brawls, in the following image you can see a thorough explanation:

Al principio se puede pensar que no pero este apartado tiene su importancia, no por nada tiene su propia sección en el menú principal del juego. Como dije antes, un clan es un grupo de jugadores que forman un equipo y que así representan a dicho clan, tanto como en el distintivo bajo su nombre como en las Brawls, en la siguiente imagen puedes ver una explicación a fondo:

Members: The current users of that clan will appear here.
Tavern: This is a chatbox for clan members to communicate with each other and talk about the guild.
Buildings: This part is important, there are 5 buildings in total:
- Hall: Determines the limit of members for the clan and the level limit of the buildings.
- Lodge: Determines the DEC bonus for victory and the discount bonus in the store.
- Arena: Determines the rank and the amount of brawls available in the brawls.
- Barracks: This building will give you some advantages in the brawls battles as you level up.
- Store: It's like a store, but for items that can only be obtained here, such as Gladius packs.
Brawls: They are a kind of tournament between clans where each participant fights against the others in his group, thus creating a ranking table, the higher you are in the table the higher the reward of Crowns for your clan and Merits for you.
Acerca de: Aqui puedes ver la informacion general del clan, su posicion en el ranking global, su actividad, etc.
Miembros: Los usuarios actuales de dicho clan apareceran aqui.
Taverna: Esto es un chat para que los miembros del clan se puedan comunicar entre ellos.
Edificios: Esta parte es importante, hay 5 edificios en total:
- Sala: Determina el limite de miembros para el clan y el limite de nivel de los edificios.
- Posada: Determina el bono de DEC por victoria y el bono de descuento en la tienda.
- Arena: Determina el rango y la cantidad de riñas disponibles en las brawls.
- Barracas: Este edificio te dará ventajas en las Brawls conforme vaya subiendo de nivel.
- Tienda: Pues, eso, una tienda, pero para objetos que solo se pueden obtener aqui, como los packs Gladius.
Brawls: Son una especie de torneos entre clanes donde cada participante combate contra los demás de su grupo, creando una clasificación, mientras mas alto quedas en la tabla mayor es la recompensa de Coronas para tu clan y de Méritos para ti.
What are the advantages of being in a Guild?
Being part of a Guild has certain advantages for us, there are visible and invisible ones, The invisible ones are that community that we created among the members, the normal thing here is that they help each other to improve each other's strategies and share experiences within the game, which makes us more competitive in the game at the end, besides, why not, create friendships. Among the visible ones is, of course, the DEC bonus for victory, which goes up to 10% when the clan is at the maximum level. In addition you also get discounts when buying items in the store, the Arena gives better and better rewards in the Brawls when leveling up and perhaps the most important is the Store, because leveling up allows you, among other things, to buy Gladius Case Packs, which I explain in the next point:
¿Cuáles son las ventajas de estar en uno?
Estar en un clan tiene ciertas ventajas, las hay visibles y las invisibles, Las invisibles son, que se crea comunidad entre los miembros, lo normal es que estos se ayuden entre si a mejorar las estrategias del otro y compartir experiencias, lo que nos hace ser mas competitivos dentro del juego, además de por que no, crear amistades. Entre las visibles esta, por supuesto, la bonificación de DEC por victoria, que llega hasta un 10% cuando el clan esta al nivel máximo. Además también obtienes descuentos al comprar objetos en la tienda, la Arena da cada vez mejores recompensas en las Brawls al subirla de nivel y la que sea quizás la mas importante es la Tienda, pues subirla de nivel te permite, entre otras cosas, comprar Packs Gladius, las cuales explico en el siguiente punto:
What are Gladius Cases?
Gladius cards are an edition of cards that can only be used in the Brawls, these can only be possessed, that is to say, they cannot be sold in any market or delegated, although they can be burned. Their importance lies in two points, the first is that they are very powerful to play and the second is that they increase our CP, these packs are bought with Merits, which are points that we get in the Brawls according to the position in which we finish. They have a cost of 2000 Merit points and their opening parameters are the same as other packs, that is to say a rare card or better insured, with the same probabilities of legendary or gold Foil.
¿Que son los packs Gladius?
Las Gladius son una edición de cartas que solo se pueden usar en las Brawls, estas solo se pueden poseer, osea, no pueden ser vendidas ni delegadas, aunque si se pueden quemar. Su importancia radica en dos puntos, el primero es que son muy poderosas y el segundo es que aumentan nuestro CP, estos packs se compran con Méritos, que son puntos que obtenemos en las Brawls según la posición en la que terminemos. Tienen un costo de 2000 puntos de Merito y sus parámetros de apertura son los mismos que de otros packs, es decir una carta rara o mejor asegurada, con las mismas probabilidades de legendarias o doradas.
Are there any disadvantages to joining?
Yes there are, although I would not call this a disadvantage, but it is normal that each of its members contribute equally to the development of the clan, each building requires a specific amount of Crowns to level up but also requires a specific amount of DEC, and these are usually quite high, therefore it is normal that these expenses are made among all members since everyone will enjoy these benefits, but if you are a new player and do not have much money to invest you may find it difficult to join a clan that requires you to pay a certain amount every so often, other than that, everything I see to join a clan is advantageous to our game.
Hay desventajas al unirte a un clan?
Si que las hay, aunque yo no llamaría a esto una desventaja, pero lo normal es que cada uno de sus miembros contribuya al desarrollo del clan, cada edificio exige una cantidad especifica de Coronas para subir de nivel pero también pide una cantidad de DEC, y estas suelen ser bastante altas, por ende es lo normal que estos gastos se hagan entre todos los miembros ya que todos disfrutaran de esos beneficios, pero si eres un jugador nuevo y no tienes mucho dinero para invertir tal vez te sea difícil ingresar a un clan que te exija cierto pago cada cierto tiempo, fuera de eso, todo lo que yo veo de unirse a un clan es ventajoso para nuestro juego.
What can we conclude from all this?
Being part of a clan will always be a plus, it has many advantages and very few disadvantages (or none in some cases) so I recommend that if it is within your budget and your time, you join one, because although it is a long-term investment, it will bring you benefits as time goes by, and in the end it will always add up, plus you will make friends and meet a lot of people that will surely help you improve your game.
¿Que podemos concluir de todo esto?
Ser parte de un clan va a ser siempre un plus, tiene muchísimas ventajas y muy pocas desventajas (o ninguna en ciertos casos) así que yo te recomiendo que si esta dentro de tu presupuesto y de tu tiempo, te unas a uno, pues aunque es una inversión a largo plazo, te ira trayendo beneficios conforme avance el tiempo, y al final eso siempre va a ir sumando, además de que harás amistades y conocerás a un montón de personas que de seguro te ayudaran a mejorar tu juego.

If I've accumulated merit points, and suddenly I'm expelled from the guild. Did I lose my merits points? Or is it still in my account when I enter a new guild?
That has never happened to me but I understand that your merits already earned and that are among your items stay with you even if you are expelled from the clan you were in.
