Angelic Mandarin - Backline Doctor
Welcome to another share your battle post! I don't own a high-level Angelic Mandarin yet and it doesn't fit my strategies that well so I never bothered to buy some copies. I've decided to rent a level 5 copy in order to make this post and have an easier time winning a battle to share.
The Angelic Mandarin is a pretty cheap card both in mana terms and in dollar terms, costing only around $25 to max out. Stats wise it isn't that great, low ranged attack, average speed, and a high amount of Helth points. The best thing about this card is the triage ability, it can be quite useful in some rulesets and most players don't expect to see it on the battlefield.
BEST RULESETS
Equal Opportunity - The triage ability will help keep your backline alive a little longer as the enemy keeps hitting them with opportunity attacks.
Super Sneak - Makes a great combo with a beefy tank with thorn. The Angelic Mandarin will keep healing the backline tank while it soaks up damage and retributes with thorns damage. This way you can stall out your enemy's advance from the back.
Target Practice - Place a good tank in the slot that will be tanking the sniping damage and use the triage ability to keep it alive while you go to town on the enemies. It works even better if you use a tank with reflect or return fire.
Ruleset: Close Range & Spreading Fury
Mana Cap: 24
Battle Link
My strategy revolved around making sure my tank remained alive for as long as possible while also keeping the remaining team members healthy using the Angelic Mandarin to heal any eventual reflect damage or any other type of attack that ignores the frontline. Ruler of the Seas is my main damage dealer while the rest of the team consists of mainly support cards.
Round 1
The Giant Squid blind ability in combo with the flying ability came in very handy making my opponents miss two attacks that would have knocked out my albatross. I managed to knock out both the front line and the second liner.
Round 2
My enemy misses another attack and the Ruler of the Seas dropped 2 enemies with one attack. While the support members managed to get another kill, leaving only one enemy standing.
Round 3
The Ruller of the Seas quickly knocked the last standing enemy making him the MVP of this battle. One of the best reward cards ever released without a doubt! Only 0.448 SPS but I will take it... Matches are getting harder lately, I can barely get to Diamond III and I used to be able to reach Diamond I in previous seasons.
I've played a couple more battles with the Angelic Mandarin but I'm not a fan so I will just let my lease run out. There are way better chaos legion cards I need to max out first, the Mandarin will be one of the lowest cards on the priority list.
