Life Sapper - Low cost high value
I've failed to submit an entrance on the last few share your battle challenges but I'm back on track now! Glad to come back to a Life Sapper challenge as it is a great card that I've been using quite often ever since I got enough copies to reach level 4.
The Life Sapper has amazing stats! Magic attackers with the life leech abilities are great since it makes it way more likely to successfully gain some health points after each attack. There are some abilities that can counter the Life Leech ability but even if it is unable to leech it is still a very strong card for the low cost of 3 mana.
BEST RULESETS
Equaliser - Tends to be one of the lengthiest rulesets allowing your Life Sapper to deal a ton of damage and collect a lot of health points before it starts getting hit. Make sure to put it towards the back for maximum effectiveness.
Little League - It is a great low-cost card that should be integrated into every low mana cap match or little league match. As long as you're not playing it in combination with Weak Magic.
It works well in multiple rulesets as long as the mana cap isn't too high but these two are the absolute best ones to consider playing your Life Sapper.
Ruleset: Reverse Speed & Stampede
Mana Cap: 13
Battle Link
My strategy revolved around using as many low mana, low-speed cards as possible so that I can feed health points to my life sapper and my maggots. One uses the Life Leech the other one with the scavenger ability.
Rounds: 1-3
My leeches slowly knock out two of my enemies while the furious chicken takes one for the team. The Life Sapper is able to keep taking hits as it is regenerating as much HP as the damage it is taking as long as it doesn't get poisoned. I was lucky enough to not get poisoned by any of the two hits he already landed on me.
Rounds 4-5
Crypto Beatle did an amazing job, holding the frontline for 4 full rounds but it was time for him to retire.
My life sapper was able to avoid poisoning once again in round 4 but by the 5th round, it finally happened. After hitting his front line forever it finally fell leaving his uraeus open and ready for a beatdown.
I have to admit that I was super lucky in this match, a poison on my life sapper during the second or third round would have changed the outcome of the match for sure! Feels especially good to win a game you're not expecting to win.
