Venari Spellsmith - Stop hitting yourself

Welcome to another Splinterlands share your battle challenge! Venari Spellsmith is one of my weakest cards, I don't consider it a strong card but I'm slowly buying some copies to upgrade it to level 4 and have that sweet amplify ability. There are some rulesets where you can greatly benefit from the amplify & reflect combo.

The attack stat is terrible and I'm not a big fan of the dispel ability. It can be slightly useful but usually, it is not a game changer. Average health points and slightly below average speed, which isn't that important since he deals magic damage.

The amplify ability is great if you have a Lord Arianthus on your deck, dealing +1 damage with every reflect, and thorns damage is absolutely overpowered. If you also brig a healer to make sure the Lord Arianthus stays alive for longer all you'll have to do is wait for the opponent to knock himself out.

BEST RULESETS

Broken Arrows - This will be the perfect opportunity to play a card with magic reflect at the front and watch amplify take them down one by one. Your enemy could also go for all out sneak/opportunity attacks in that case drop something with thorns at the back, sit back and enjoy.

Fog of War - Great chance to have a bulky frontline with return fire or magic reflect and thorns at the front to take full advantage of the amplify ability.

Super Sneak - Place a card with thorns at the back and watch the enemy sneaky monsters drop like flies. For good measure put something with magic reflect at the front in case the opponent goes for some magic damage.

Ruleset: Healed out & Explosive Weaponry
Mana Cap: 19
Battle Link

My whole strategy was drafted around the amplify ability from my Venary Spellsmith. Well, at least until the battle started and I realized that my Spellsmith doesn't have that ability yet.

Anyhow the point was to have the Lord Arianthus at the front reflecting magic damage and dealing thorns damage to melee attackers. Followed by the one and only Venator Kinjo to deny my enemy the blast damage and then some additional damage dealers to speed things up. Since my Venary didn't have amplify he was just a casual damage dealer instead of the pillar of my strategy.

Round 1

A great first round allowed me to knock out two out of my three enemies, leaving only the most dangerous one alive. At this point it is one versus six so it's pretty much gg.

Round 2

Nothing of interesting happened, even though he has thorns on his last card it isn't enough to knock out an entire time of 6. Plus my front line also deals thorn damage.

Round 3

My Lord Arianthus fell but is job was done, all that was left was to deal the mercy blow that would end the match.
Not the most exciting battle I have to admit but the main point was to formulate a strategy around my Spellsmith even though I don't have the amplify ability yet.

Thank you everyone for reading, I'm playing around with some post formatting to make these posts more appealing. I hope that the rulesets with the little image on the side will look as good as they do in the post preview. Always trying to improve my posting skills as I go along.

!1UP These combat rules really let you make a lot of comps that take advantage of the Amplify ability. Nice content!
