EoS 97 Report: First Time to Finish in Diamond III

Well, that was another nail biting finish to the season and you can see by my stats below that it was a hard fought one. I managed to jump up in leagues in both wild and modern, but the big news was reaching diamond III for the first time!!

source

It was easy enough to get back into gold last season, but breaking into gold I was fiercely competitive. Even with some reinforcements for the last days it wasn't a given to get into diamond, but I kept going and eventually cracked it.

Making small mistakes in the higher leagues is much less forgiving. I was also playing alot more with fire and death decks and I was totally loving it tbh!!!! I have managed to write up a new hit list of cards that I want in these splinters and will rent them initially, but buy them at some point.

As you can see, my rewards took a spanking compared to last season. Last season was a bumper result and my hopes were high for a repeat performance.

In the end, my end of season chests were what let me down with nothing too good to add to my deck.

This season however I am earning diamond chests and am really excited about it.

According to this chart from Splex.gg, there is a nice jump up in the SPS rewards and the prize pool is much higher too.

With the price of DEC mooning, I have been holding off on buying DEC to invest in new cards as it is much more expensive.

source

You can see the huge run-up in DEC of around ~40%! I have no idea what will happen to the price of DEC, but it seems popular for people to buy and hold it as it may go back to it's peg.

If there is a drop to a more reasonable level, then I can continue to invest further in my deck.

Instead of DEC, I have instead focused on SPS and decided to invest in the HIVE:SPS liquidity pool that pays 59% currently. The good thing with this is that it will help build up my stake of SPS faster too.

I've made some notes of how much of each that I have paid in and will monitor the returns going forward.

My plans for this season are to again try to finish up in diamond III. So far it is proving challenging even staying in gold at the start of the season.

I am in the process of trying to upgrade Grund to level 4, but have currently ran out of DEC for it.

I also bought a Kron the Undying for 105k DEC, but with the increased value of DEC, you can now get for 90k DEC. It's hard to keep track of card prices with these fluctuations, but I am still happy with my buy.

How was your season?

Thanks for reading.

Congratulations on reaching diamond 💎

Yes, what's up with the DEC spike? I have no idea.
Simple swap was out of commission since the HF and only recently came back connected to the chain shortly after the spike began.
But I don't dare swapping now fearing DEC might drop again. Same as you, waiting for it to come back down.

RW for DEC doesn't seem to pass so that cannot be it.

It's a hard grind in lower gold at the moment. I hope you have more luck than I on getting up your ranking for some decent Rshares to pile up some season chests.

Dang, yeah, that kind of sucks. $1.03 in value from 57 chests. That's a far cry from where we were a year and a half ago. I have been just staying in Gold. I can get up to Gold 1 and that seems to work well. I got 60 Gold chests this past season for a total of $7.12. I got a couple GF cards in there, so that was cool.

That seems like you had a nice haul. Last season I had around $15 in gold, so I guess it swings in roundabouts.

Yeah, that is probably the case. This was one of my better ends of seasons lately.
