Newbie Earning Tips in Splinterlands!

(Edited)

Hello Splinterfans!

I haven't really talked much about earnings on Splinterlands, that is because mostly I have been focusing on playing the game, collecting cards and stacking SPS!

I haven't really checked how much I am earning, but now this is a big topic as we are in the bull run and token prices have been going up! SPS has doubled from its bottom and the flywheel is working and burning it making it more rare and valuable.

I have been stuck trying to battle my way back to gold where I like to play and there are some good earnings there, but I have found even in silver the earnings have been pretty great!

The last month my in game earnings were 773 SPS, which works out at around $26 at todays SPS price. However, to get good rewards you also need to stake SPS which also gives you some nice earnings. I earned another 838 SPS from staking the SPS in game which more than doubled my earnings to around $54!

That's pretty good for a month battling away in silver. I checked back my earnings from when I was in gold, and the rewards are even higher there, so I definetly want to get back to gold and should do this season.

I don't see this earning potential in any other web3 games. Most involve trying to be first and flipping NFT assets which you can do in any game and doesn't mean a healthy game economy like we have with Splinterlands. It is great that the Splinterlands team are so agile and react to make changes and therefore push the game and economy in the right direction. Hopefully we might see the same with Hive soon.

Newbie Tips

If you are a newbie you may be thinking, thats all well and grand, but I am new and how can I get to this level of earnings? Well today, I will give a few tips to boost your earnings and maybe you can add another income stream to your crypto portfolio.

Tip 1 - Brawls Boost 15-20%!

The first tip to boost your income would be to join a Guild. Not only will it earn you some awesome Glad cards to strengthen your deck for free, it will also boost your SPS battle earnings by 15-20% on average!

I broke down my battle rewards and these are currently around 400 SPS on average per season. By playing brawls, I get another 70-80 SPS each month on top! If you play in a top tier guild even more! Grab those SPS low hanging fruit!

Tip 2 - Guild Bonus 7% boost!

As you can see from the above picture, if you join a Guild with buildings that have been leveled up, this can give you a bonus on your rewards. Here you can see that I am getting a 7% bonus on my earnings by being part of a Guild and leveling up the buildings.

Tip 3 - Staked SPS

Depending on what league you want to play, you will need staked SPS in order tom maximise your earnings.

SPS has doubled, so the rewards have doubled, but so has the cost of stacking SPS if you need to buy it from the market. I still think its good value at this price, but if you don't have spare cash laying around because you sold all your chairs to buy the latest rare sat or a Bitcoin Punk, you might want to check out renting SPS!

Here you can rent out the required SPS you want from the market and save yourself a big outlay. This will allow you to keep your earnings and stack your own SPS in the mean time!

I have tested the rental market myself and rented 10k SPS and the order was pretty quickly filled and I got an extra boost to my SPS. This can then easily be covered by any earnings from the game.

Tip 4 - Card Rentals

Cards are pretty cheap in the game right now, but to buy them all could be a considerable outlay at the beginning. Therefore, I would recommend to try renting the cards you need. The cost of rentals is very low and again, if you set yourself a rental budget under your daily winnings, you are making some pure profit each day without any capital outlay! It also allows you to try the game out without buying anything right at the start.

Tip 5 - Bonus Tokens

SPS isn't the only token you can earn in Splinterlands. If you have some staked SPS, you can also earn vouchers. These tokens are used to give you discounts on in game items, such as packs.

However, you can also sell them for extra income! Here you can see that I have 11 vouchers and could sell them to bolster my income!

Summary

There are many ways to play and earn in Splinterlands and finding the way that works best for you is part of the fun. Here I didn't even go into the ways you can play and earn using Land which I am sure there are too.

Thanks for reading.

I have about 5.8k staked SPS and I majorly earned them from buying Chaos legion, staking returns, battling and joining a Guild. Joining a Guild is one of the fastest way, although I'm gracious to get a 16k SPS delegations From two individuals. I battle in silver one and two mostly and gold at the end of the season.

Nice earning stats there. It takes time to build

Thanks. Joining a guild gives many benefits and I certainly recommend it. That is pretty cool that you have some delegations, the Splinterlands community is one of the best out there!

Certainly one of the best. Although building can take years, and sometimes that's the challenge.

Yes. I would not want to start a guild from the beginning, it is best to join an existing one. Thats a great point.

I started moving some of my cards around the other day so I can try to open up some more earning streams in the game. It has been a bit of a nightmare seeing the rental market and everything else slow down.

I finally bit the bullet and sold off my rental collection. I bought some key cards I needed with it.

Nice guide for newbies! For us veterans earnings have been tough lately. I'm still looking at all these new Rebellion cards, some are really cool. Of course the ones that are really cool tend to be very expensive.

Starting in Splinterlands would have been much easier with some simple guides. I just had to dive in and learn by winning and losing!

yeah, the grind to stay in gold is pretty tough without the rebellion meta cards. I hope we can see some lower prices and then I can grab the ones I want!

Hey, cool article, one error you might want to correct though. The voucher token doesn't give you better card odds, the potions you earn from daily quests do that. The vouchers give in game discounts on purchases.

I really didn't know about this information about renting Splintershards. I'll rent them before I lock in any large amounts. Great post.
