Splinterlands Battle Mage - Holy Protection

Hello Splinterfans!

This week we have the new Battle Mage Secrets weekly challenge with the ruleset Holy Protection.

Holy Protection gives an extra level of protection to your monsters in a battle and can make them harder to get rid of. With this ruleset, you do not need to use the awesome Lorna Shine summoner who bestows this ability onto your monsters.


To combat the holy protection ruleset, what I like to use is a combination of monsters that can help quickly remove this ability on my opponent. Some good ones to use are monsters with blast,double strike or redemption. Redemption can remove Holy Protection against your opponent's entire team in one sweep. This can get you some holy protection removed without losing any extra attacking strength.



In today's battle, I utilise the powerful double-strike ability to deadly effect.

On to this week's battle.

This is a mid-level battle with also equal opportunity, so there is some extra way to deal some blows to your opponent.

ROUND 1 - Diemonshark vs. Ferox Defender

Today Diemonshark faces off against Ferox Defender. Not a monster that I would normally face in the tank position, it must be a bot? Can I overcome him?



The ace up my sleeve is the powerful Coastal Sentry who just does some devastating damage when she is on a roll. She starts off well and takes out the Exploding Rats and the trample ability kicks in and she removes the holy protection from Clockwork Aide too.



With the reach ability of Possibilus, I had expected her to attack Ferox Defender, but instead the opportunity game rule has taken precidence. Exploding Rats uses the redemption ability to remove holy protection from my team. Damn!



ROUND 2 & 3


The Ferox Defender is slow and doesn't do much so far. In round 2 I lose Torrent Fiend and Pelacor Bandit in round 3.


However, Coastal Sentry goes on the rampage again! This time taking out Clockwork Aide and Xenith Monk.




ROUND 4 & 5

It is the turn of Ferox Defender in round 4 as Diemonshark and Coastal Sentry team up to take him out.

ROUND 6-8

By round 6, things are looking bleak for my opponent as the Diemonshark/Coastal Sentry combo are proving very lethal, but Antoid Platoon manages to remove Diemonshark first and Coastal Sentry finishes off Antoid Platoon next. That leaves just Scavo Hireling as easy pickings in round 8.

Summary:

Holy Protection requires some extra attacking ideas to try and get around this defense in your opponent. My goto is double-strike attacks and redemption if you have it.

Failing that, a good monster with blast can also be very good to spread the damage and remove the protection from more monsters at a time.

Great match :P. Opponent with underleveled cards but you used that soulbound card with double strike. That card is actually super strong in this type of ruleset with the piercing it's actually disgusting.tahts one of the soulbound i wanted maxed hehe probably gold foil if i can combine across my accounts

Yeah I had another match with a tougher opponent, but the double strike card isn't so great as Coastal Sentry who is lethal.. especially now she is levelled up..

Guess they're lots of cards on splinterlands, Havent seen the ones u holding before.. Have been finding it difficult to make a post about my battles on splinterlands, am finding it interesting to join the game ... Have any idea were i can learn to make a post about my splinterlands game. I mean adding the games and pictures this way is there some kinda tutorial

To make things easier, I would recommend to use the tool Canva. There is a free to use version that is more than adequate for creating posts. It is the most useful tool for making graphics and good looking posts.

Am finding it very difficult to know exactly the custom size to work with on that, i know its not YouTube thumbnail size care to assist with this please. Like the dimensions. Thanks and so sorry for lots of questions

Hello once again @mypathtofire, have been practicing on this splinterlands, and i cant seem to find the ruleset keep your distance in any of the battles, how does it work if i want to participate in the weekly contest on splinterlands community?

Thou am using a free splinterlands acct cant afford a summoner spellbook yet on splinterlands, can i still participate in the weekly contest with the free acct?

You can still participate in the weekly contests, there are 3 to choose from but you can only participate in maximum 2 per week. There is the social media challenge, the battle mage and art contest.

I understood the social media challenge, but in this battle mage challenge how can i find for inatance keep your distance ruleset in the splinterlands game when participating, does the ruleset just pops up or how?

Ah yes, if you want to share a battle, you need to wait and have a battle where the ruleset comes up. The rulesets are random, so could come at anytime..

Yes, usually you are playing 20 matches each day, so you will usually see it.

I thought that #Splinterlands players play at least 25 matches a day (those 25 are for the Ranked Battles, and there are also Brawl and Tournament Battles). 🤔😏
