Splinterlands Battle Mage - Silenced Summoners

Hello Splinterfans!

This week we have the new Battle Mage Secrets weekly challenge with the ruleset Silenced Summoners.

The Silenced Summoners ruleset can inintially be a bit of a pain to play as it makes all the summoner abilities useless and therefore you have one less way to buff or debuff your team.


The main strategy that I like to play here is go for the lowest mana possible Summoner in the splinter I like and then look for other monsters that can buff or debuff your team to give you an advantage.

In today's battle, we also have the Ferocity and Fog of War rulesets that mix things up even more. This means that only magic and ranged attack will be effective, so a buff or debuff of these would be helpful.

Let's check this week's battle.

This is a low mana battle making things tricky.

ROUND 1 & 2 - Mycelic Morphoid vs - Cruel Sethropod

With sneak and opportunity melee out of the choices, I have opted for a low mana magic attack. My only fear here is if they have some magic reflection tank and here they didn't do that, but probably should have.



With his 3 healing each turn, Pelacor Mercenary is a formidable foe up against my Hill Giant. He can heal my 3 magic attack each turn easily.



Luckily, Hill Giant has the awesome stun ability which I just need to activate to incapacitate Pelacor Mercenary. It takes until round 2 until Hill Giant manages to stun him.



ROUND 3 & 4



With Pelacor Mercenary stunned, he doesn't heal and this is enough for him to take enough damage to finish him off in round 3.


In round 4, the Venator Kinjo and Fungus Fiend stand no chance and fall easily.


Summary:

Getting a low cost summoner is important for the Silenced Summoner ruleset and then combined with Fog of War, it is worth to consider debuffing ranged or magic attack.

Without stun, possibily my opponent would have won here.

Usually with Silenced Summoner, your monsters keep their abilities, so you can have a fully fledged game, but lose a buff/debuff. So if you are relying on Obsidian boosting your magic attack for example, it could be much weaker, especically if you are against a team with the silence ability.

Therefore, playing a possible combination of attacks could make sense depending on what the other rulesets are.

o.o nah thats not the same. even with lux vega u can only choose one right. future rainbow summoner that can play card from any element and mix together instead of only one element

yeah, that could change the entire dynamic. from what i understand, the new rebellion set will change the gameplay somewhat.

Are you referring to the Legendary Life/Death Monster Zyriel? 🤔 A Level 1 of that Card costs $21.78 (and $236 if you want to buy enough to have Level 4 of that Card). 🤓

A Level 3 Regular Foil Zyriel currently costs about $140, while the same level in Gold Foil costs about $390. 🤓😏

Zyriel is a Promo Card, and that type of Cards is known to be expensive. 🤓

The cheapest Legendary Promo Card right now is the Fire Monster Lord of Fire, which already costs $14 for a Level 1 one. 💸😅

I think that the Legendary Neutral Monster Chain Golem is the best #Splinterlands Promo Card. 🤔

Having a strong Attack, decent Health and Armor, the Shield Ability, and being in the Neutral Splinter, the Chain Golem is great to use in any Battle where you expect your opponent not to use Monsters with Magic attack. 🤓

You should buy a Chain Golem on the #Splinterlands market (PeakMonsters). 🤓

It costs $35 at Level 1, $109 at Level 2, and $158 at Level 3. 🤔 Notice that the price of the Card at Level 2 is closer to its Level 3 than at Level 1. 😏

Maybe there are days where you managed to prepare more than one article to publish, and you need to schedule publishing them more than a week in advance because you already have a lot of pending articles and you want to publish posts only once a day. 🤔😎

You can easily determine that by just looking at your computer (or on frontends such as #Ecency or #PeakD which you use to schedule the publication of your posts) if you already have pending articles waiting to be published on their respective scheduled dates. 🤓

Do you mean Legendary Neutral Summoner Lux Vega instead of Lux Vegas (that sounds like Las Vegas? 🤔

Whenever you use that Summoner, you must choose which Splinter to use, much like whenever you use a Dragon Summoner. 🤓

Having the Neutral Summoner Lux Vega (as well as Neutral Monsters, especially Legendary ones) is definitely an advantage, but I can't tell how much its advantage is, since I haven't used that Card yet. 🤯😅

Navigating through the Silenced Summoners ruleset indeed presents unique challenges given the nullification of summoner abilities, which often act as a pivotal part of strategy planning.
