Splinterlands - It's Time!

Hello Splinterfans!

The new Splinterlands roadmap for 2023 was released and I can honestly say that I am seriously pumped about the developments coming. Combined with our recent bounce off of the market lows it has got me seriously buzzing about the game that I made some more upgrades to my deck and added to the liquidity pool to increase the supply of SPS.

The plans for the game remind me of the pre-game intro to The Running Man that you can see here.. They don't do intros like that anymore.

With the new upgrades to my my deck I was able to rain down some extra punishment to my opponents that got my excitement even higher! There is nothing like winning games on top of getting good news.

Q1

In Q1, I am really excited about the new season rental possibilities. Sometimes I would just like to rent cards for a whole season and not worry about the rental expiring and remembering which card has expired. So for players, I think this is a great addition to the game.

I am also interested to see what the soulbound reward cards are all about and how that will work. Generally I am not a fan of soulbound cards as it defeats the purpose of having an nft, but I can understand why it would be brought in and could improve the economy.

The final things that I am excited about in Q1 are the new ranked battle rulesets. What will they be and also about the league rating points changes. We are already mid-Jan, so these changes will happen in only a few seasons.

Q2

The plans for Q2 look really good too. The things that I am most interested in are the SPS Delegation Markets. So I understand this means staking SPS on players. I am wondering how this will work and it is something totally new and it will be interesting to see how it develops. I have been increasing my SPS stack and this could be a good way to put it to use.

The next change seems a big one and I am excited to see how this will work out in practice. Will it mean anything having a CP deck strength and how will this convert to having SPS staked? I think it is a good and sensible move that will encourage people to keep SPS staked and maybe bot farms won't play in the higher leagues if they don't have enough staked SPS.

I currently only have just over 2k staked SPS, so I am wondering how that will play out. I am trying to increase it as much as I can though, so hopefully, I will have enough to play in the leagues that I want to.

Not only that but there are also planned some Guild Alliances in Q2. What that is and how it will work is also a development that I am interested to see.

The final thing in Q2 that has me mega pumped is the new tutorials and deck renting that will be released. I already saw on the Nfty Arcade website how it is looking and think it is a great idea and looks totally amazing already. This will be much easier and better for onboarding new players and yeah, is well overdue I think.

I think the game is developing in so many cool ways and possibilities, that it is hard not to be buzzing about how things are going to be with all these great developments when that bull market takes off.

The Nfty Arcade website looks very slick and will be a great addition to the game. I recommend checking it out here. I have only registered and added Splinterlands as a game so far, I didn't add any decks to rent or rent anything myself, but I am considering that may be a good option to do instead of single cards at some point.

Q3

As if all that wasn't enough, there are further things planned for Q3. The big things here are the phase 2 for land and what that might bring. I don't have any land yet, but I am watching developments closely.

The other major thing in Q3 that I am looking out for is the new Rebellion cards. I don't know if it is too soon after just burning many CL packs, but it will be interesting to see what the new cards are and how they will impact the gameplay.

I am sure things will shift around in modern and some cards could get impacted with their usage not so good compared to the newer more powerful cards like what we have seen with some cards from Chaos Legion after the huge mana-induced Riftwatchers cards dropped.

Overall, it is great to see so many upcoming plans for the game and it looks like lots of exciting things are coming. This will make it another great year for playing Splinterlands and combined with the bull market, I am expecting some great things for us players to enjoy.

Thanks for reading.
