Splinterlands - Playing a few rounds in my 3rd Season

Splinterlands Title

▶️ Watch on 3Speak

In my 2nd Splinterlands video I play a few rounds of Splinterlands and show you :

-my updated deck
-chest status
-league

Investing a few DEC tweaking my deck has paid off a bit, but there is still some room for improvements.

I am getting closer to deciding on a further deck for when you can't play the Earth Splinter.

Thanks for watching.

Water is the second most versatile in my opinion. Specially on wild, some nice alpha/beta cards there.

Time Mage and Pelacor Conjurer worked well to win the battle.

Defending against magic attacks is a weakness for me at the moment. !CTP !PGM

If I am using Earth splinters, Unicorn Mustang and Mushroom Seer are a good combination. However, if confronted with Alric Stormbriner and Coral Wraith, that's a really very difficult opponent to overcome particularly if the cards of the other player are leveled up.

Thanks for the tips. Im using Unicorn Mustang but need a side kick for him! !CTP

When faced with sneak magic, I find Failed Summoner very helpful. If against ranged attackers, my option is either to use a different summoner such as Quix the Devious, or if I will stick with Mylor, I need to find a second liner that has high mana. In that case, either Grund or Mycelic Slipspawn will be my choice. I find Hunter Jarx and Mitica Headhunter as good attackers, and for defense from range and melee, Queen Mycelia is my choice.

Im using Hunter and Mitica. Queen Mycelia is soooo expensive though! lol !CTP

Ah, so you're buying. I am just renting her. I can't afford to buy expensive cards except for cheap cards like Grund and Wood Nymph. 💲🦈😆

I thought even she was expensive to rent at around 20+DEC per day.

How do you join cards together? Can I turn multiple level 1 cards into level 2 for example?

I got it. The rental fee fluctuates big. Sometimes, the card that you are renting at 1 to 2 DEC can jump to 20 and vice versa. I think that's what happened to me in the case of Queen Mycelia. If the price is too high, I look for an alternative, not unless of course if the card is essential in increasing your winning rate.

You can check the number of cards needed to level up by clicking the card and checking the stats tab. And then go to Cards tab and click the + sign.

Yes, I just completed two DFs, Silver III with 15 chests and Bronze I with 10 chests. Also planning to publish a post either later or tomorrow morning about Daria Dragonscale. 💲🦈😄

I got it. I also skip other splinters. I prefer to play using either earth or water. Perhaps, once I have enough budget to power up my cards, then I will also consider both life and fire. Death for me is really difficult.

It seems the focus is nearly always death.LOL

But I should consider renting cards when a focus comes up. Keep forgetting.

I'm active now on the rental market. Not sure if it is worth to upgrade cards from level 1 to 2.

You don't need to if you just want to focus on the rental market. Leveling up is only for those who have the intention to climb to higher leagues.

I was thinking to get higher rents

That's also a profitable idea. During my early months playing the game, I made some computations about powerful cards with higher rents. The return was good.

i have quite a few cards that rent for 0.1 dec or next to nothing. maybe if i upgrade to level 2 it is better.

Yeah, the higher the level the better the rental fee. Before, I was thinking of buying a couple of Mylor Crowling and Djinn Oshannus and planning to put them in the rental market for passive income. But the prices changed big since then.

There are some Cards whose Rental Prices are still almost at 0.1 DEC per day. 🤓 The cheapest Level 4 Card available to rent right now is the Pelacor Deceiver at only 0.138 DEC at current prices. 😏 !LUV !CTP

I wonder who would rent Pelacor Deceiver. 😄

Maybe those who find it really hard to finish the Daily Focus with the Death Splinter will try to rent a high-level Pelacor Deceiver. 😄 !CTP

Being in the Silver League allows the use of up to Level 5 Common Cards in Ranked Battles. 🤓

But a Level 5 Pelacor Deceiver is not much different from lower levels. Only a Pelacor Deceiver with backfire ability is worth renting.

Just being in the Bronze League already pressures you to upgrade all your Rare and Epic Summoners (and the only Common Summoner in the game Delwyn Dragonscale which is not at all common) to Level 2. 😅 !LOLZ !CTP

I also find it hard to win using the Death Splinter. 🤯 The Monsters on that Splinter usually have high Damage and Health, but low Speed. 😅 !CTP

However, I find that my interest in death splinters is returning since last season playing at Silver II.

You published that post just 24 minutes before I started my commenting session, so it was likely that I missed it. 😅

Anyway, your #Splinterlands post shows that the Monsters that made your interest return to the Death Splinter are the Level 6 Pelacor Deceiver because of its Backfire Ability, the Level 4 Venari Bonesmith because of its Poison Ability, and the Level 2 Revealer and Harklaw due to their Immunity Ability. 🤓

!LUV !CTP

Venari Bonesmith could be one. However, he is not the primary reason. Reading between the lines, this gives the clue for my shift:

Playing in the Silver III and below, water and earth splinters were my favorite. Reaching Silver II with upgraded cards, my interest is now shifting towards dragons and death splinters.

The ability to summon upgraded cards is the real reason but I did not mention it explicitly for I can only do this if I will rent higher-level summoners which my favorite is a level 2 Quix the Devious.

If only it's possible for you to buy your favorite Cards instead of renting them, then you would no longer think about Renting your favorite Monsters and Summoners again and again (unless you are able to use a bot that allows you to automatically rent Cards). 🤓 !PIZZA !CTP

You're right. Just like what's going on now with the rental market. I tried several times to rent summoners both on Splinterlans and PeakMonsters and yet the market doesn't seem to work.

As for buying, a level 2 Quix costs $51.00. That's a worthy goal for next year.

I saw the notice from #PeakMonsters that the Rental Market yesterday was having problems, though I was able to rent Cards anyway. 😅

Regarding your favorite Level 2 Quix the Devious, you might want to try your luck opening Chaos Legion Packs instead of buying the Card directly, if you have the funds (next year)! 🤔🤓 #NotFinancialAdvice 😅

There are cases where the Furious Chicken (especially those that are Level 1) on the #Splinterlands Market suddenly require high prices (30 DEC from about 3 DEC). 🤓😏 !PIZZA !CTP

I skip them and find alternatives whenever I see cards being rented at higher prices.

I sometimes rent Monsters that require zero Mana (the Legendary ones that have 1 Attack), though nothing beats the zero-Mana Level 1 or 2 Rare Furious Chicken that can absorb attacks from the opponent's Monsters with Snipe Ability, something that the Legendary zero-Mana Monsters cannot do. 🤓 !PIZZA !CTP

Yes, I usually rent several zero mana cards. If neutral is allowed, I have at least two zero mana cards in my team.

!CTP

As what is on my screenshot above from the #PeakMonsters Rental Market, certain zero-mana Legendary Cards cost a lot of DEC to rent. 💸😅

In that case, I avoid them and proceed to the battle without zero mana cards. But such an experience is rare for me.

The higher the Mana Cap of the Battle, the less likely you should use zero-Mana Legendary Cards. 🤓 However, the Furious Chicken that is Level 1 or 2 still is a good distraction from opponent snipers. 😏 !PIZZA !CTP
