Greetings to all the members of the Hive Blockchain community, most especially those who enjoy playing Splinterlands. This week's share your battle challenge features the visually-appealing Motlen Ash Golem.

Getting to know you

Molten Ash Golem is a 6-mana rare monster from the fire splinter. At level 6, it has 2 archery damage, 2 speed, and a whooooping 10 health. In terms of abilities, it has Close Range (it can attack at the first position) and Weaken (it lowers the opponent's monsters health by 1). To me, it is a solid tank because it has enough health and it can attack from anywhere. The Weaken ability is just a bonus. I find myself using it in most situations, especially when Yodin is available. One problem would be its speed. It usually misses when it tries to hit monsters with high speed and dodge.

Battle analysis

As aforementioned, I almost always use Molten Ash Golem when it is possible. I couple it with Yodin. It usually miss against high speed monsters but its main purpose is to be a secondary tank to support my damage dealers in the back line when I use Yodin. Below is one of the battles I use Molten Ash Golem. I was faced against Lux Vega.

The rule sets

Lost Legendaries - Legendary Monsters cannnot be used
Mana cap = 36
Splinters = Fire or Life

The mana was high enough for me to use Yodin. I chose Cereberus as my main tank because of its Heal (longevity) and Retaliate (additional damage against melee attackers). I was lucky that my opponent used a low speed tank, so my Molten Ash Golem was able to inflict damage against it. But again, my main purpose for using Molten Ash Golem is to be a secondary meat shield for my damage dealers at the back (Gem Meteor and Spark Pixies). I added more speed using Supply Runner and brought more defense using the shield from Tower Griffin. My opponent's Tenyi Striker and Serpentine Spy would need at least two hits to pick off my damage dealers. In the end, even when I did not need Molten Ash Golem in the first position, I felt safe knowing that I have a secondary tank to protect my damage dealers.

Quick tips!

Advantageous when..
When used with Yodin! I use Molten Ash Golem as the secondary tank of my archers equipped with splash damage! It could also be used for not so high mana battles as the 6 mana is affordable.
Reverse Speed - At 2 speed, it still has high accuracy in reverse speed battles.
Even Stevens - 6-mana

Do not use when..
You expect your opponent will use a high speed tank with evasion.
Odd Ones Out - Cannot be used!

Rating

10 out of 10

I am a fan of Molten Ash Golem. I think it is a solid secondary tank, especially in a Yodin lineup. Hopefully you get to try to use it so you can appreciate its power. If there is anything I can help with understanding how it can be used, just drop a comment!
