OK, not really free. Plots are going for about $500 right now.

With the growth rate that Splinterlands is going through right now, I think they will continue to appreciate.

It comes down to the edge items are going to give players in battles. More edge, more wins, more DEC and SPS earned. That's where the value comes from. How much are those tokens going to be worth as the game gets bigger and bigger?

Great information on the Splinterlands lands and looking backwards I think I could have bought more. Now as you say "I will be holding them forever" if we will be able to put them at work, would be a great passive income channel. Nevertheless, we are living great times, but more thrilling ones might still await coming...

Your vid is making me fomo for land. Let's say I wanted to buy my first one? Which should it be? Just the cheapest or is there a strategy.

You mentioned the discord. Are you talking about the main splinterlands discord or do you have another i should join?

Right now they are all the same. Each PLOT you buy is a claim. When the map gets revealed in a month or three you'll know what you actually bought.

So buy the cheapest you can if you want to buy.

I'm so excited for lands to finally start having utility, I want to start mining those resources. It will add so much dept to the game!
I ended up only buying one plot while the price was low.

Do you have any idea when SPS holders will be able to influence the game? For example, voting on whether DEC should be pegged to 1000 DEC per dollar.

Agreed I'm not yet sure exactly how they will work besides some basics but everything tells me that demand is going to sky rocket on everything again.

There will be even more trading and resources going on, land is the only spot to create this, bonuses on land, you need extra cards to mine the land so reall you're no longer building one full deck your almost building two or renting out the cards to work on your lands. Thus everything should simply shoot up in value and hype when that happens. It's going to make these levels laughable with how much value will be coming in.

The other thing I'm wondering is if land can be rented out because that could prove to be a VERY passive income.

I would think they will be able to be rented out. It makes sense that there will be a LOT of people out there who will want the resources from the land but won't have the land to get them from. So, if you as a landholder can rent it out to them, I would think you would be able to. We'll have to see how that works for developing it though. If you just have a raw piece of land with nothing on it, will people who rent it be able to build things on it? Will you have to build on it first and then rent it out? Many questions to be answered yet but one thing I think we can all agree on....with literally thousands of new users coming on every day, 150,000 plots are not going to be enough to go around. By the time they're implemented into the game, there could very well be 1M players plus involved in Splinterlands. I hope the team is building out the infrastructure as fast as they can....

Since you do taxes with tax sherpa as well I hope you do not mind me asking how do you go about calculating the income of your splinterlands rentals?
any chance I could talk to you about that, might look to set up a service but need some advice
