In this week Share Your Battle Challenge with the Elven Cutthroat is one of the older Splinterlands neutral common cards in the spotlight.

ELVEN CUTTHROAT STATS, ABILITIES and MY OPINION

Elven Cutthroat is a 3 Mana Cost minion with Sneak attack. It's a neutral card and it can be played with every Splinter.
Most likely played in a Sneak Setup with additional Meelee Damage Buff from Splinter or monsters with the Inspire ability.
The Sneak cards of the Splinter Element are better in stats and should be picked with priority over Elven Cutthroat.

Feral Spirit (Life), Pelacor Bandit (Water), Kobold Miner (Fire)...

With the new Reward cards and the release of Uraeus I rarely play Elven Cutthroat. Uraeus with his additional HP and Armor makes is much more versatile and with more survibility it does more damage during the whole battle. Armor is so strong to completly negates a physical (sneak) hit of the opponents monster.

Elven Cutthroat can be played if you have to outspeed your opponent or if it does fit next to Uraeus like in my Battle below.

BATTLE LINEUP

RULESET

• Fire and Water Splinter
• Heavy Hitters: All Monsters have the Knockout ability.
• Lost Magic: Monsters with Magic may not be used in the battle.

Because of the Lost Magic Ruleset I was confident picking Malric with his +1 Meelee DMG Buff, because I had no fear to run into Venari Wavesmith what is a hard Counter to Fire.

PLACEMENT

1. Living Lava: Is a great tank and with no Magic Monsters allowed it gurantees that every hit of the enemy monsters is physical and so the shield ability will reduce every incoming DMG.

2. Fineas Rage: Great Offtank with Reach Ability, High Speed and Large Healthpool.

3. Uraeus: Because of the no Magic Ruleset I was thinking my opponent will also play Fire. I placed Uraeus at the 3rd Spot in case that my Opponent plays a Goblin Shaman, which will reduce The HP to 1 and it can survive the first Opportunity hit of the opponents Serpentine Spy. I decided to not Counter Sneak.

4. Elven Cutthroat: The star of this weeks share your battle. With the Ruleset and available Mana I was able to play Elven Cutthroat next to Kobold Miner and Uraeus without any disadvantage.

5. Serpentine Spy: My favorite Card in Fire Meelee. With his Speed and Opportunity it is able to take out the low health backline of the opponent. Placed in the middle to not get hit by Opportunity or Sneak Monsters and survive longer.

6. Kobold Miner: The 3rd Sneak Monster and placed in the last Spot behind Serpentine Spy to get first hit by Sneak.

My Opponent picked Borus and with his Sea Monster and Crustacean King he was focussed on keeping the Tank Spot alive.
All his monsters have lower speed than mine. Let's take a look to the battle.

BATTLE

ROUND 1

In the 1stround i took out the angry chicken and nearly finished off his Sand Worm. My Opportunity of the Serpentine Spy has hit the Armor of Halfling Alchemist. Alchemist hit my Living Lava and halved the Attack with the Halving Ability.
My Kobold Miner died from the Sand Worm Sneak hit.

ROUND 2

After the 2nd round I finished off his Sand Worm and Halfling Alchemist. Only Seamonster and Crustacean King alive.

ROUND 3

After Round 3 I have won the battle with only 1 dead monster on my side.

STRATEGY, LEARNINGS and IMPROVEMENTS

As written before I was confident with picking fire, because Malrics Meelee Buff is so strong. After watching the battle I would switch some placements:
Serpentine Spy in the third position to avoid getting hit by the 2nd sneak Monster. I would place Elven Cutthroat in the last position because it is faster than Kobold Miner and it's more likely to hit before dying than Kobold miner.
