Why are modern rewards not higher????

Im curious if anyone can answer this. From the graph that you can see on any given day there is roughly 2-5x more battles played in wild than there is for modern. I know that battle rewards in modern are slightly higher but they are definitely not 2-5x higher. Why is that? I was under the impression that both leagues had the same amount of reward pool. So that makes me believe that if 5x more people play wild then it would be about 20% of the rewards vs modern. Clearly its not that way. I have 2 accounts and I play in silver 1 for both. I get to the same rating on both roughly. My modern battles reward me maybe 10-30% more on some days, but why is it not higher? What am I missing here. Thank you ahead of time!
