It may be the new meta that has brought this more into the light for me but I think it is an important consideration for the community and developers to look at.

The journey to climb the ranks has become a game of inches, where extended win streaks yield minimal points. A hard-fought victory might only result in a meager 10 points or fewer. This gradual ascent is then abruptly disrupted by the harsh reality of loss, with a single defeat wiping away hard-earned progress and more. Losing a match can mean plummeting by 30 points or more, far outweighing the advancements made during the preceding victories.

The frustration lies not only in the difficulty of accumulating points but also in the disproportionate impact of losses on the overall ranking. It's akin to taking three steps forward, only to find oneself forced to backtrack five steps to proceed further. This seesawing of progress and setbacks is graphically depicted in the ranking chart I got from SplexxGG, illustrating the uphill battle faced by players seeking to advance in the current ranked environment.

While understanding the challenges developers face in balancing ranked play, addressing "old player experience" issues, including the frustrations tied to point allocation, should be a priority. As Splinterlands continues to evolve, maintaining a fair and rewarding ranked system becomes crucial for the satisfaction and engagement of the player base.
