Conquering the Rebellion

The allure of a complete card set in Splinterlands is both a testament to dedication and a badge of honor within the gaming community. The latest edition, Rebellion, posed unique challenges on the path to completion, particularly in acquiring Common cards and Summoners. After navigating the twists and turns of over 2,700 packs, I've triumphed in assembling the full set. While it may have included some FOMO and YOLO purchases, I am happy to have the milestone behind me now.

The scarcity of Common cards in the Rebellion edition added a layer of complexity to the collection journey. Despite the substantial number of packs opened, a complete set of Common cards remained elusive. Faced with this challenge, I turned to the marketplace, a strategic move to bypass the randomness associated with further pack openings. However, the market dynamics presented their own set of hurdles.

The intentional approach of the community, conserving the value of the Rebellion edition by not purchasing as extensively as in the past, created an environment where Common cards became a prized rarity. The scarcity, while aligning with the company's value preservation goals, also led to inflated values, making the completion of the set a formidable feat.

Among the elusive cards were the Common Summoners, further heightening the complexity of the task. The high market values associated with these key cards added a layer of strategic decision-making to the pursuit of a complete Rebellion set. However, these are key cards in low mana battles as they are now the most efficient Summoner although they lack any abilities.

The target was clear: achieve set completion before the imminent release of Conflicts. The dedication to this goal persisted, and finally, the last piece of the Rebellion puzzle fell into place. I took a couple of days to gather the last handful of cards as I really thought they were overpriced. With the set now complete, attention can shift back to the evolving landscape of Splinterlands land.

As the Conflicts release approaches, the value and strategic significance of a full Rebellion set are poised to rise. The journey to completion, marked by challenges and strategic decisions, underscores the dynamic nature of the Splinterlands ecosystem. The ability to adapt and overcome, whether in the face of market dynamics or scarcity, is the essence of a true Splinterlands champion.

Congrats on a complete set. I've been distracted with other things these first few months, but I'm getting there slow and steady. Interesting analysis about the scarcity of the common cards. Of all the cards in the set, the common 2mana cycle and the summoners had some of the lowest RF/GF spreads to max a card.

Those were some of the first I jumped to complete. I wish I hadn't waited as long on the GFLs -- those moved quickly after we finally got confirmation wagons coming Tuesday. Foil prices tied to wagon CP has been a solid driver in the market for card sales in the early life of Rebellion.
