Finishing the Job: Completing My Maxed Foundation Set

Opening over a hundred packs pushed my collection to the brink of a fully maxed Foundation set. For the most part, the results were solid. But as I reviewed my collection more closely, a few surprising gaps stood out—particularly on some key cards that matter for consistency and competitiveness in Frontier mode.
At that point, it became clear that relying on luck alone no longer made sense.
When Luck Stops Being Efficient
Continuing to open packs just to fill a handful of missing BCX started to feel inefficient. The odds of hitting very specific cards—especially commons and rares with awkward gaps—didn’t justify the time or resources.
Instead, the more rational approach was obvious:
go to the market and finish the set intentionally.
Turning to the Marketplace
I jumped over to @PeakMonsters, which continues to be the go-to tool for anything collection-related in Splinterlands. To my surprise (and relief), most Foundation cards were priced very reasonably.
That made the decision a no-brainer.
With a few targeted purchases, I was able to close the remaining gaps and officially complete my maxed Foundation set—without meaningfully denting my funds. Given the time saved and certainty gained, it felt absolutely worth it.
Why This Matters
Having a fully maxed Foundation set puts me in a great position to:
- Compete more consistently in Frontier
- Maximize chances in jackpot draws
- Eliminate roster weaknesses tied to card availability
At the same time, it doesn’t mean the chase is over. There are still premium variants and high-end pulls that remain elusive, which keeps things interesting without making progress feel gated by randomness.
Closing One Chapter, Opening Another
This felt less like an impulsive purchase and more like closing the loop on a long-running goal. I enjoyed the pack openings, embraced the randomness, and then switched to precision when it mattered most.
Now, with Foundation fully maxed, I can focus my attention on competing, learning new metas, and deciding where my time and resources are best spent next inside the Splinterlands ecosystem.
Sometimes the smartest move isn’t opening one more pack—it’s knowing when to stop and buy the last pieces outright.

Hope to see you back in Modern soon. This mini-set looks great. How heavy are you going in for these new cards?
Got 1,200 packs lined up to open... plan is to slowly get it maxed but let's see...
That is always my target as well. Gotta get the max RF promos!
