Hiatus or The End?

I recently took a break from everything HIVE and Splinterlands related. It also marked the end of my daily manual play within the Frontier game mode. I had recently completed the Foundation card set (until the recent new cards issued) so really had little incentive to play except for the enjoyment. However, the card set is not deep enough to keep me engaged with the meta.
I had hoped that when I got back, I would try Modern mode to play manually again but after a handful of matches, I could not keep up with the new abilities and rulesets which got me a bit overwhelmed. I could no longer really enjoy it so I find myself at a crossroad of continuing to learn the meta and play or just focus on land. I am still playing Brawls which is what keeps me somewhat engaged on the gameplay but not to much success either. I will have to reflect on how to approach it all going forward.
I feel the same playing Foundations. I think they should have introduced more cards with lower mana.
Yeah, the mana has its limitations but it is a free to play so having too many options is likely not ideal and will become a challenge longer term.
What about Wild Format? I still enjoy the meta there of mixing the new abilities/cards I come across with the old ones I'm used to.
Yeap, that is what I am considering now... Given the increased costs for Xbot service in Wild, I may just go back to Modern. Lots of choices but not a lot of time to play lately. May also just focus on land...
