Milestone Unlocked: Maxing Out My Rare Gladiators in Splinterlands

While Rare Gladiators may not be the most dominant tier in the Gladius set, they are still powerful assets in high-level Brawls. Their Bloodlust ability, which boosts attack power after a kill, makes them incredibly useful for shifting momentum in battles. Having them fully maxed means I can now deploy them at their peak potential, increasing my ability to dominate my frays.
A Long Journey to This Point
Reaching this milestone wasn’t easy. Unlike standard cards in Splinterlands, Gladiator cards cannot be bought or sold, meaning the only way to acquire them is through Gladius packs, which are purchased using Merits earned from Guild Brawls.
This meant years of:
✅ Competing in Brawls every five days—no breaks, no missed battles
✅ Earning and accumulating Merits—grinding out matches to maximize rewards
✅ Opening Gladius packs—hoping to pull the right duplicates to level up key cards
✅ Contributing to my Guild's growth—since stronger Guilds earn more Merits, making the grind a little easier
Over time, I saw my Gladiators gradually power up, but it always felt like a slow, uphill battle. Finally, after opening 135 Gladius packs in this latest round, I hit my target—every Rare Gladiator is now maxed out.
Why This Milestone Matters
In Splinterlands, maxing out cards is essential for competing at the highest levels. Gladiators are even more important because they give Guild Brawl players a unique advantage. When used effectively, they can completely swing battles in your favor.
Having fully maxed Rares means:
🔥 Stronger lineups for Brawls—I no longer have to worry about weaker, lower-level versions of these cards.
🔥 More flexibility in team composition—Maxed cards unlock better stats, making them more versatile in different rule sets.
🔥 More confidence going into battles—Knowing I have the best versions of these cards gives me an edge in matchups.
While I still have Epic and Legendary Gladiators to finish, this milestone is a clear sign of progress and proof that my strategy of steady grinding is paying off.
Now that my Rares are fully maxed, my next target is maxing out my Commons. Ironically, Commons tend to take the longest because of their higher copies-per-level requirement. But I’m now in a position where:
✅ Every Gladius pack brings me closer to maxing the entire Gladiator set
✅ My Merits will be more focused on key remaining cards
✅ I can enjoy the journey more, knowing that the hardest grind is behind me
This achievement fuels my motivation to keep pushing forward. The power of Gladiators in high-level Brawls is undeniable, and having the strongest versions of these cards is a game-changer.
Reaching this milestone reminded me why I’ve stuck with Splinterlands for so long. The grind is real, but the feeling of progress and achievement is even better. Brawls will always be competitive, but having maxed-out Gladiators means I’ll be able to contribute more to my Guild and hold my own in even the toughest matchups.
Now, the final stretch begins. The Commons and the last few key Gladiators still need work, but for the first time, I can see the finish line. When that day comes, I’ll know that every battle, every Merit, and every pack opened was worth it.
