Possibly My Last Big Foundation Pack Opening

Foundation has been a big part of my daily routine ever since Frontier mode launched. I genuinely enjoy logging in each day, playing a handful of matches, and reliably earning at least two Foundation packs. That steady drip has been satisfying, predictable, and—most importantly—fun.
But lately, I’ve started to feel a shift.
Frontier Has Done Its Job
Frontier mode has been great. It reintroduced manual play for me, helped me learn a new card pool, and gave me a reason to log in daily without overthinking things. Over time, though, it has started to feel a bit… dated. Not bad—just familiar.
And familiarity is often a sign that it’s time for something new.
Eyeing a Return to Modern
As I look at my account more holistically, I can’t ignore the fact that I’m fully maxed for Modern. That opens the door to:
- Higher SPS earnings
- More meaningful Glint accumulation
- And deeper engagement with the broader competitive ecosystem
The catch, of course, is that I’m not very plugged into the current Modern meta. But honestly, that’s part of the appeal. Learning a new meta, making mistakes, and adapting again sounds refreshing—especially after months of Frontier play.
The 145-Pack Moment
With that in mind, I decided to go big one last time.
I opened 145 Foundation packs, pushing my collection very close to fully maxed. It felt like closing a chapter—one last concentrated push after weeks of steady accumulation.
The result? I’m essentially where I wanted to be with Foundation.
Now Comes the Harder Question
What I didn’t fully prepare for is the next decision:
What do I do with the extra cards?
At this point, my options are:
- Hold them in case Foundation gains future relevance
- Burn them for Raffle Points
- Sell them to recycle value into land, SPS, or other priorities
Each option has trade-offs, and none feel obviously correct right now. That tells me it’s probably time to pause, observe, and let the next phase of the game guide the decision.
A Transition Point
This pack opening feels less like a chase and more like a checkpoint. Frontier helped me re-engage. Foundation gave me structure. Now, Modern may be where my time—and attention—belongs next.
Whether this truly was my last big Foundation opening remains to be seen. But for now, it feels like a natural transition point in my Splinterlands journey.
On to the next mode—and the next set of decisions.

I'm surprised you've enjoyed Frontier so much, considering you weren't a newer player. I stayed committed to modern for the life of the format, so with modern ranked and tournaments, my time to battle is extremely tight. I enjoy the complexity and strategy of champion league, so I made the choice to stay away from campaign and frontier mode entirely.
