From the moment the release date for Rebellion was announced, I hit the ground running. To ensure I could hit the ground running, I began strategizing on how to amass the necessary assets for this epic collection. In a world where precision is key, my first move was to start accumulating DEC and Voucher tokens.
The Decisive DEC Strategy
DEC, the in-game cryptocurrency of Splinterlands, quickly became my focus. As the lifeblood of the Splinterlands economy, it's the gateway to securing new cards, packs, and additional assets. To bolster my DEC stash, I set my sights on participation in battles, tournaments, and seasonal rewards to maximize my earnings. However, this was somewhat slow despite my month of accumulation.
I also took to selling some of my older assets to get some DEC. My target was to sell some of the older booster packs which have maintain a good value despite the declines of the bear market. Unfortunately, many in the ecosystem have been in a similar approach so competition for selling assets has been a challenge. I knew I had to act quickly as this would definitely be a driver of increasing the DEC value. I bit the bullet as DEC was still at a 25% discount and dove into my hardware wallet and put some ETH on the line for a swap. Happy I did on time before the rush for more DEC!
Vouchers: The Currency of Opportunity
Voucher tokens, often overlooked but invaluable, became the secret weapon in my strategy. These versatile tokens have the potential to unlock doors to discounted card purchases, adding another layer of depth to my collection game plan. By accumulating Vouchers in advance, I'm poised to take full advantage of the promos and discounts available for bulk purchases in Rebellion. Luckily, I had already speculated on Vouchers months before.
Maxed Sets and Gold Foils: A Future Undertaking
While my current approach is tailored toward securing the core cards of Rebellion, I have my eye on loftier goals. As the months unfold, I'll be channeling my efforts towards amassing enough cards for a fully maxed set, pushing the boundaries of my collection further.
Gold Foil cards, the crown jewels of any Splinterlands collection, are also on my radar. While I may not initially aim for them, I remain open to the possibility if the right opportunities arise. I have benefited for my increase Gold Foil collection in both ranked battles and in land but it is quite expensive to get there. It will be something I track carefully over the next year.
