Splinterlands: Rentals for My Future

A complete revamp in the Splinterlands rental protocol has led to a a huge wave of players transacting for the fast growing ecosystem that is the game. The development was great in that it was done in conjunction with the community and third parties to develop the mechanics. While I am biased, the experience that @peakmonsters has provided along with their continual commitment to the user experience and integrating feedback has been wonderful and a game-changer.

This is my second iteration of renting my extra cards in my Collection for some passive income. Despite my efforts the first time, I never got past earning $1 a day and found that it was better to use my extra cards in separate accounts for the rewards instead of renting. I slowly moved away from rentals but always saw the potential which is why I can proudly say that I have never sold a card before.

This second iteration has been amazing as it has coincided with the growth of the player base and the complete sell out of all assets in the ecosystem. I decided to take part of the system revamp immediately and listed about 1,000 cards the first day. I immediately saw the take rate increase given the factors of growth already mentioned.

While in the past I would setup and go away, I stood watching the markets actively over the last couple of weeks and have now listed and relisted even more cards to look to optimize my Collection. I have now seen my Collection generate over 6K DEC consistently now which has gotten me not only happy but thinking more of the potential of the future. I am now even considering renting my main maxed cards as I have heard that other players are doing the same for a better return! Just more examples of how awesome the game and potential is for the future!
