Onboarding play2earn game for 2024. Why I choose Splinterland
Happy new year to everyone. It's my pleasure to put this down as one of my new year resolutions. One of such resolutions is to begin playing blockchain games. On a broader perspective, one of the resolutions was to engage and learn new things, especially those things I have been afraid of doing.
I heard about online games years ago, but as of last year, I learned about blockchain games when I initially signed up for Hive. I read about games like #dCROP and others. After some time I came in contact with #Splinterland game. At first I was attracted to the game because of how adventurous it looked. The arts and designs of the game are such that I have never seen before. The distinctive characters of monsters and summoners speaks volume of the designers and the developers.
In order to satisfy my curiosity I began to research about #Splinterland game and I realized that it's an online collectible card game using blockchain technology with a specialized token to be earned known as
Splintershard(SPS) . I also realized that to access the game, a player must own cards known as non fungible tokens(nfts) which are tradable. My interest became heightened when I realized that it's a play to earn game. I have played a lot of online games which I never earned money from, so Hive blockchain having a game that pays while playing is such a rewarding and nice idea.
The interest to begin playing Splinterland began during the last Zealy campaign. December edition, which I promised that I would include as my new year's resolution. Luckily for me, during one of the space shows, @blewitt gave me a splinterland card and asked me to log in to the site and buy a splinterland spell book with the code. It was a smooth start for me and I appreciate his magnanimity.
This 2024 is the beginning of my journey to playing a blockchain technology game and I am happy to begin with Splinterland. I believe that it will be a smooth ride and journey just like the game itself.
I happened to read and research about other blockchain games, none of them picked my interest but Splinterland so I must satisfy this interest this year.
I believe that as I begin this journey, it will be a rewarding one.
