RULESET: Back to Basics

A classic example of when you get your ass handed to you in splinterlands. Especially when you know that your doomed as soon as you see their team set up.

Makes a change to show an ass whooping for the challenge instead of waiting for a game that i look good in.

I usually like to see back to basics as a ruleset especially with a low mana as my life splinter has a lot of strong low mana magic cards.

This isn't a guarantee as there are summoners that can negate the line up but it works more often than not.

In this case however it was melee only with a high mana so i picked a dragon summoner to spread out my options with the life splinter after.

The Battle.

The ruleset for this battle was:

Back to basics.
Enrage.
Melee monsters only.

55 Mana.

Starting line-up

I knew i was fucked as soon as their summoner came up with armor repair. No matter what i had in my line up from there they could take the damage of one turn and repair the minimum of armor to make my attack worthless.

Well played sir.

The three ranged attack in the back row was just going to speed up that process.

First kill..

This could only be one card and indeed it was my tank to go first. Usually shieldbearer can take the damage but since it couldn't fight back the death was inevitable really.

It did hold out until the start of round three so respect for that.

Round three.

Round three went exactly as expected. More damage to my tank and more embarrassment to me. I barely landed a shot in anger for the whole match which goes to show that the right team can walk over any opponent if played well.

I have a strong deck but felt like a novice watching this one.

Finishing line-up.

I did manage to take out one monster in round five with my single ranged attack taking a toll over time but they were resurrected to keep up the fight.

In the end it took 14 rounds to finish off my team and i did find a slight bit of redemption in the last few rounds by taking down three of their team.

Overall however it was an easy win for the other team and it was well done with the right summoner for the ruleset.

I can't argue that there was any sort of luck involved or missed shots as they just had the better cards and used them well.

Try for yourself.

If you haven't played the game before then now is the best time to join. Today is much better than tomorrow and a lot better than later.
