If you haven't seen the latest post from @jarvie and the @peakmonsters team you have missed out.

Read the full details here and be amazed at how much development has gone into rentals since the revamped system launched just a few months back.

With all the madness of the game lately it would be easy to miss the why of the current success.

It's not just a random co-incidence that the game has pumped so much. It's timing.

  • The gaming market has pumped in general.
  • The game has flooded with new users.
  • There were no new cards being printed.
  • Prices went up.
  • SPS token dropped in the middle of the hype.
  • The new rental market allowed players to get in the game with less funds.

A lot of important things that landed at the same time.

While this has all been rosy for the exisitng users base as new players and money flooded into the system it is a different experience for the new guys trying to get a foothold in the game.

It is relatively expensive to get started. Cards prices are at an all time high and it can be difficult to drop money in until you get a handle on everything that splinterlands has to offer.

If you do rent out a deck, there is the possibility of them getting cancelled near the end of season as holder try to maximise their gains with the frenzy that happens every time.

Enter, Auto rentals.

From the peakmonsters team:

No more racing to get a great deal only for it to always be gone before you get it.
No more head pounding frustration specially end of season.
We are also giving owners more information to help them understand the value of their cards in the rental market
We will develop a quick way to match the bids that are out there when you try to list cards for rent.

Peakmonsters are even funding the RC costs for this service which will mean that users will not need to stock extra Hive in their account unless they are going for a large numbers of cards.

You will be able to bid on individual cards

You will bid in DEC for a monster at a particular level and the highest bid is first in line to get any card that is equal or less than that bid. Once that bid is filled we will work to fill the next bid.

or even better for a lot of new players, bid by Collection Power which is what a lot of players are looking for anyway.

You can tell us how much Collection Power you would like us to rent. For example if you wanted to get 10k CP and your bid was 200CP/DEC then you would get all 10k CP for 50 DEC or LESS each day.

You will be able to bid for 10k CP and the auto bid will fill it as cheapely as possible from your specification.

This might not be great news for the renters as it should stabalise the markets alot more but it is great news for the majority which will help the game overall.

It will provide more competition for the people renting and should in theory set a CP standard pricing across all of the cards bar very rare ones which would stop the end of season madness and some crazy returns that we see now.

I know that some players won't like a drop in rental incomes but personally i would like to see it drop to a more sustainable price point and hold this long term rather than make huge gains now and have it all fall apart in a couple of months. Steady and sustainable is much better for everybody involved and with these new tools we should see that happening.

Sounds like a good change / good new feature!

All I do now a days is rent out my cards. I unfornunally sold pre-spike levels since I didn't play and didn't find Splinterlands fun x)

Wow that is great news. I still think the rental prices at the end of the season will be competitive since people want to move up for the season rewards.
