Hi guys! This blog is all about a battle with a combination of Earthquake and Poison rules. Let's see whose team will overcome this ruleset.

BATTLE RULESET

image.png

REQUIRED MANA and AVAILABLE ELEMENTS
The battle requires 28 mana caps and the only active elements are DEATH and DRAGON. For this battle, I used monsters from both elements.

NOXIOUS FUMES
All Monsters start the battle Poisoned.
Note: Higher HP and cleanse are the best choice. However, there may be some cases where you go for a big offensive attack and wipe out your opponent before the poison becomes a factor.

EARTHQUAKE
Non-flying Monsters take 2 Melee damage at the end of each round.
Note: Using monsters with Flying or Heal is the trick for this ruleset, but if you are unable to choose such monsters, use monsters that have high HP and high damage. Don't keep heal units up front. Shield has a very important role. Using Brighton Bloom as a summoner can help in this ruleset. Keep monsters with Flying in the last positions when Earthquake has done enough damage to both sides.

TIS BUT SCRATCHES
All monsters have the cripple ability. Each time an enemy is hit by a Monster with Cripple it loses one max health.

MY LINEUP

image.png

SUMMONER : QUIX THE DEVIOUS
A summoner from the dragon unit which reduce the range attack and speed of its opponent.

image.png

1ST ROW : CARRION SHADE
A 1-mana monster from the chaos legion with a melee attack. It has flying ability which is suitable for the rule, earthquake. Because of this ability, it has an increased chance of evading Melee or Ranged attacks from Monsters who do not have the Flying ability.

image.png

2ND ROW : RIFTWING
Another monster from the death element with no attack but has various abilities. This card gains 1 hp everytime a monster dies because of its scavenger ability. Riftwing has also a flying ability. Its headwind ability can reduce the range attack of the enemy monsters. And eventhough this monster has no attack, it has the backfire ability which means that, if an enemy misses this Monster with an attack, the attacker takes 2 damage

image.png

3RD ROW : VOID DRAGON
A legendary monster from the dragon unit and has a magic attack. At level 3, this monster's abilities are Flying, Void, and Phase. Magic attack can miss this Monster (using the same hit/miss calculation as for Melee and Ranged attacks).

image.png

4TH ROW : CHAOS DRAGON
Another legendary monster from the dragon unit with magic attack. This monster has high HP and at level 3, it has the Flying, Scattershot, Blast and Blind abilities.

image.png

5TH ROW : CORPSE FIEND
A zero-mana monster from the death element. This monster has a melee attack and has no ability at levels 1-3. At max level, it has the silence ability which reduces the magic attack of all enemy monsters.

THE OPPONENT'S LINEUP

image.png

The opponent used a dragon summoner that adds 1 armor to its team members. He put a 1-mana and no-attack monster in the first row. The second row is another 1-mana monster, Carrion Shade. Riftwing was also included in his lineup positioned on the third row. Next is Harklaw, a legendary monster from the death element with the Shield, Immunity, and Demoralize ability at level 3. Second to the last is a monster with the magic attack, Revealer, which has stun and immunity ability. In the last row is Silent Sha-Vi with sneak ability.

MY STRATEGY IN THIS BATTLE

Since the battle rule includes earthquake, the majority of my chosen monsters are with Flying Ability because Non-flying Monsters take 2 Melee damage at the end of each round with this rule. Another rule is Noxious Fumes which poisoned the monsters so I also included a monster with scavenge ability in my lineup which gains 1hp every time a monster dies. Another strategy is that I pick up monsters with high HP and shield like Chaos Dragon and Void Dragon, both with magic attacks from the dragon unit. Last in my lineup is a zero mana monster which I put in the last row to fill up the position.
