SHARE YOUR BATTLE Weekly Challenge! DHAMPIR STALKER
Hi guys! This is my participation for Splinterlands' "Share your battle weekly challenge". The star of this battle is Dhampir Stalker. I used one of my alt accounts for this entry. BATTLE LINK
THE LORE
"Half-vampire, the Dhampir are faster and stronger than normal humans. Most have taken to a mercenary lifestyle, never quite welcome with vampires or humans. The Stalker is adept at tracking their prey, then dispatching the target with a silent and perfectly-placed arrow from the shadows.
From his perch atop the dock master's building, Vilak observed the commotion below. There on the docks, crooked and bleeding among the fishing boats and merchant ships, was the corpse of a male. Tanned skin. Brown beard. Dirty clothes. Lifeless eyes staring up at the night sky."
CARD STATISTICS
Dhampir Stalker is a rare death element card from the chaos edition. It has a 7 mana cost which is suitable to use in high mana cap battles. This card's ability at level 1 to level 4 is "True Strike" which means that this monster's attack cannot miss. At level 5 to max level 8, it has an added ability called "Deathblow", this monster does 2x damage if its target is the only Monster left on the enemy team. For this battle, I rented level 6 of this card in gold 1 league.
THE RULESET FOR THIS BATTLE
This battle's active elements are Fire, Water and, Death with 58 mana cap. The battle's rule is called "Close Range", ranged attacks may be used in the first position in this battle. We can use high HP or high-speed Ranged monsters at position 2 (or even at position 1 if it has Heal). For this rule, choose summoners that give a bonus to Ranged attack or to speed, and then choose high-damage Ranged attack monsters like Dhampir Stalker. Beware of the possibility that the opponent might pick Lir Deepswimmer as summoner or monsters with Return Fire ability. High HP and Heal is the way to go in this ruleset.
MY LINE UP
CARD NAME | DESCRIPTION |
---|---|
OwsterRotwell | A rare death summoner that adds magic reflect ability to its team members, which when hit with Magic damage, does reduced Magic damage back to the attacker. |
Dark Ha'on | I used this monster as a tank since it has high hp and has different abilities at level 3. It has taunt ability which means all enemy monsters target this monster (if they are able to). It has also flying ability and has an increased chance of evading melee or ranged attacks from monsters who do not have the flying ability. Another ability of Dark Ha'on is the scavenger ability, it gains 1 max health each time any monster dies. |
Corrupted Pegasus | I put this in second position because of it's reach ability. It also increased the health of its team mates for its strengthen ability. It is helpful for Dark Ha'on because it served as a tank heal. |
Djinn Muriat | Another legendary card from chaos legion. At level 3, it has the void armor, knock out, and giant killer ability. It has also 3 magic damage. |
Cthulhu | Another monster with magic attack and high hp. It also have flying and cripple ability. |
Dhampir Stalker | The featured card for this battle, I decided to position it in the back line because it has a high range attack. |
Raa | A monster with range attack which also plays a big role in the battle. It has flying, scattershot, giant killer, and scattershot ability which allows it to hit random enemy target. |
THE OPPONENT'S TEAM
My opponent used Thaddius Brood as his summoner, it decreases 1hp to all his enemy monsters and 1 magic attack to my lineup with magic. He used cursed windeku as his tank, it has thorns that give damage back when attacked by a monster with melee, it also has the ability to heal itself. He also used Djinn Muirat and other monster with magic attacks. He positioned 2 ranged attacks in rows 4 and 5. At first, I was hesitant if I could win the game, but let us see whose lineup will be more effective in this battle.
LET THE GAME BEGIN
THE BATTLE
In round 1, the first attack came from the enemy, Lira the Dark. It is also one of the most used legendary monsters in death element. At level 3, it adds speed to its team members, causing their team to be the first one who will attack. Their first target was my tank Dark Ha'on, luckily, it has a magic reflect ability that damaged back the enemy's monsters with magic attacks.Dhampir stalker made his first attack in this round which hit cursed windeku. The opponent's tank, cursed windeku was killed in this round.
Round 2 was also a victory for my team since most of the remaining monsters in my opponent's team were killed and only 1 monster remained in the last round. Though my tank was also killed in this round, Corrupted pegasus managed to continue as a tank.
The last one to defend the opponent's team was gem meteor, this monster has a ranged attack.
In round 3, Dhampir Stalker killed this monster with its range attack. My team won for this battle!
DID MY STRATEGY WORK?
Yes, my strategy worked well in this battle. Luckily, the opponent used mostly magic attack monsters which is good because my summoner has magic reflect ability. I decided to use a tank with high health, monsters with high magic, and high ranged attacks. Even though I was hesitant at first because the opponent used a summoner that reduced the health and magic attack of my team, and also used monsters with swiftness and slow ability that reduced the speed of my lineup, still I won the battle.
WHAT WILL I TRY DIFFERENTLY NEXT TIME?
Nextime, I will try to add a monster in my line up which can increase the speed of the team. I will consider monsters with Swiftness ability like Lira the Dark which is in my enemy's lineup.
