Getting into Splinterlanads and Completing First Quest with Earth Splinter.

avatar

What's up hivers?

Finally, I'm a noob gamer of splinterlands as well after I completed purchasing the spellbook and completing the first quest. I recorded the entire things and here's the video.

Website Interface:

At first, I'll talk about the website interface that I liked so much. There are so many options and so many places to visit in one website. I salute to the developers and the designers behind this website.

Homepage:

image.png

This is the homepage that had so many interfaces. It has a bar on the above that links to Shop, Mana Well, Market, Collection, Battle, Tournaments, Guilds, FAQ. After scrolling scroll down there'll be some options as how to battle, card ownership, community and clicking on them, it'll be redirected to the main articles.

How to Battle:
image.png
image.png

This interface tells about the battle that needs to review combat rules, make the team and then battle.

Card Ownership:
image.png
image.png
This interface tells about own card collection. New players are provided with selected common and rare cards but one may wish to start building own collection of real cards once someone start playing.

Community:
image.png
image.png
This interface tells about the community that splinterlands holds in discord, splintertalk and telegram and there's a button of FAQ as well. One can find the links to discord, telegram, etc at the bottom of the homepage.

Shop:

If it's your first time in splinterlands then the first thing you'll see in shop is asking you to buy the summoners spellbook that will unlock the ability to complete daily quests, compete for season rewards, earn dark energy crystals and more.

Buying Spellbook:

image.png
image.png
image.png
image.png
image.png

I paid 11.066 HBD for $10.00 connecting hive connect and my active password to buy the summoner's spellbook. Then my account got upgraded.

Packs:

image.png

Chaos Legion Pack:
1 Chaos Legion Pack is worth 1 Voucher+$4 and that's in credits. Looks like it's not my place to look at now as it needs a lot of money. LATER.

Land:

image.png

So there were lands of splinterlands on sale but everything sold out now. I don't get to buy a land in splinterlands, sad. Does it mean, I'll have to stay there renting an apartment? Joking. Maybe it'll come later again when someone wants to sell their lands.

Potions:

image.png

This is the potions hop that sells three types of potions and they are legendary, alchemy and quest. These potions are expertly crafted, enchanted, and bottled at only the most powerful mana springs and can be used to improve magical senses and capabilities.

Legendary Potion:
image.png
image.png

This potion improve the drop rate of legendary cards.

Alchemy Potion:

This potion improve the drop rate of gold foil cards.

Quest Potion:

This potion is used for gaining 5 extra loot chests for completing quests.

Azmare Dice Booster Packs

Sold Out.

Skins

Skins are cosmetic upgrades for specific cards to make them look unique in the collection and in battles. Skins are associated with a player account and are not transferred when the associated cards are transferred or sold.
To use your purchased skin, click on the desired card in your Collection.
From the details screen, locate the dropdown menu directly underneath the image of the card to access any skins you’ve purchased. Choose an available skin to make it active.

image.png
image.png
image.png
image.png
image.png
image.png

There are total seventy four kinds of skins.

The Mana Well
image.png

The mana well is a powerful nexus point for the elemental energy that is necessary to create new cards.
To open a pack in your inventory, simply drag and release it into the Mana Well.
The cards you receive from the pack are yours to sell, trade, or play with as you see fit.

So the Mana Well is the place where you open your card packs.

Market: Cards
image.png

There are 469 regular foil and 457 gold foil cards in the market right now that can be bought anytime with Dark Energy Crystals and CREDITS.

Market: Rentals
image.png

There are 469 regular foil and 469 gold foil cards in the rental market right now that can be rented anytime with Dark Energy Crystals and CREDITS.

Market: Land Sales
image.png

Land sale is coming soon to the splinterlands marketplace.

Market: Other
image.png

Titles, Packs, Totems, Skins and more coming soon to the splinterlands marketplace.

Collection: Cards
image.png

This is the place where your cards collection will be shown to you or I think to anyone else who tries to see your card collection.

Collection: Other
image.png

This is the place where your collection of anything else exclude cards will be shown to you like I have the summoner's spellbook and 1 alchemy potion in my other collection.

How To Play: (STATs, Abilities & Strategies)

This is the place that helps the most to new players and I got a lot of knowledges about splinterlands from this place. It's kind of like a manual of this game.

Card Types:
image.png

There are two types of cards,

  1. Summoners and
  2. Monsters.

Splinterlands:
image.png

There are total six splinters, 1. Fire, 2. Water, 3. Earth, 4. Life, 5. Death and 6. Dragon but there is another splinter which is Neutral and that cane be used for each and every splinterlands as common so it's not given the honor of a splinter.

Card Basics:
image.png

This is so helpful. This shows the basics of a card.

  1. Mana Cost,
  2. Stats of physical power, speed, toughness and health of the character,
  3. Splinter and Rarity,
  4. Name of the card,
  5. Level of the card that can be increased but combining a lot of cards,
  6. Experience of the card,
  7. Abilities of the card.

Stats:
image.png
image.png

This place gives a good idea about the stats which we've seen in the 2nd point of card basics above. There are three types of attacks,

  1. Melee attack: Melee attacker can normally attack from the front position only.
  2. Ranged attack: Ranged attacker can't normally attack from the front position so it's better to use ranged attacker away from the front position so that it never comes to the front position.
  3. Magic attack: Magic attacker can attack from position and it ignores the defender's armor stat and damage to health directly and it always hits without miss.

There are other STATS as well like Speed, Armor and Health.

Speed: Speed is normally used to give chance to attack fast.
Armor: Armor is extra defense that is used before health.
Health: Health is health and the monster dies it the health hits zero.

Abilities:

Abilities are what make the fights interesting. Each one makes a unique contribution to the outcomes of the battle. They are critical to formulating a winning strategy.
Often time, you'll notice that certain splinters may specialize or perhaps even have exclusive access to specific abilities.

There are total 64 abilities.

The Battlefield
image.png

This image shows how the battlefield would be.

Preparing for Battle
image.png
image.png

Now this shows how to get prepared for battle showing the steps where choosing summoner is the first step, choosing monsters is the second step and positioning is the final step.

Combat
image.png

Battle: Quest
image.png

I started playing and I've finished my first quest with lyanna's call and the objective was to win five ranked battles with the earth splinter although I've won only two battles and enemy team surrendered in three battles so total five battles that I've won with the earth splinter.

Battle 01: Earth VS Fire - Battle Link, 3 Monsters VS 4 Monsters

image.png

Step 1: Choosing Summoner
My Summoner: Wizard of Eastwood

I chose Wizard of Eastwood as summoner from earth splinter. This is a RARE Earth Summoner of untamed edition.

The Wizard of Eastwood is the long-time rival of the Magi of the Forest. The Magi no longer summons, but teaches new summoners from his Summoner's Green school in the Western Forest. The Wizard of Eastwood, who had chosen a life of selfish seclusion so many years ago, has suddenly returned as a formidable contending summoner to the Mount Mox tournaments.

image.png
This summoner snatches away -2 armor from all enemy monsters.

Enemy's Summoner: Pyre

My enemy chose Pyre as summoner from fire splinter. This is a RARE Fire Summoner of untamed edition.

Pyre was discovered by the Torch on a research expedition into the heart of the Smoldering Forest. Once they deciphered his crude method of communication, they discovered that he was the last of a tribe of forest magicians, and that he possessed the full skills of a summoner, plus some tricks they had never seen. They took the boy and gave him a new life, summoning for the Torch in the Mount Mox tournaments.

image.png
This summoner gives +1 speed to all friendly monsters.

Step 2: Choosing Monsters
My Monsters VS Enemy's Monsters
image.png

My Monsters:
I chose Unicorn mustang, Khmer princess and Xenith archer.

Unicorn mustang:

The wild brown Unicorns of Anumün contrast the white Unicorns of Khymeria in many ways. Unicorn Mustangs travel in herds, while Sacred Unicorns are only seen alone. The brown Unicorns are not considered sacred like the white, but they are still protected from hunt and slaughter by a superstitious stigma that no Lyverian dares challenge. When approached in the wild, Unicorn Mustangs act as though anyone and everyone but fellow Unicorns are their enemies.

image.png
I chose this monster for the 1st place. This monster has 3 melee attacks and 1 speed and 10 health and VOID ability. It is a monster from earth splinter from Untamed Edition.

Khmer princess:

Once, on the other side of the world, a great Empire thrived known as Khmer. After generations of great losses from a horrific and indescribable enemy, the Khmer were forced to abandon their home and relinquish their Empire. The small numbers that remain of the Khmer have traveled the Outer Ocean on tecnologically advanced ships, the first in the Splinterlands to make use of combustion engines. The magic of the Khmer is also powered by fire, which explains why they have chosen the Burning Lands to make their new home. They are ruled by Princess Sipha; not only is she the only among her seven sisters that survived the wars, but she is the fiercest Khmer warrior. She has very little to prove, but she will do whatever it takes to ensure the survival of her Khmer people.

image.png
I chose this monster for the 2nd place. This monster has 1 magic attack and 1 speed and 2 health. It is a monster from earth splinter from Untamed Edition.

Xenith archer:

The Xenith Scale is devoted to enlightenment, knowledge, and the protection of others. Members among the order practice to remain balanced in all things and believe Mana, too, should remain balanced. It should not be used to cause chaos or disorder, nor should it be used to tip the scales of justice in either direction. The order believes in fate and that everything has its proper place. Fate and destiny are predetermined, and they should not be altered. AND MORE.

image.png
I chose this monster for the 3rd place. This monster has 1 ranged attack and 1 speed and 2 health. It is a neutral monster from Chaos Legion Edition.

Enemy's Monsters:
My enemy team chose Kobold bruiser, Goblin fireballer, Serpentine spy and Spark pixies.

Kobold bruiser:

Like most races in the Burning Lands, Kobolds enjoy competitive sports. In special caves called wrestlehuts, Kobold Wrestlers meet regularly to spar with one another and practice their techniques. For these Kobolds, size doesn't matter; they are happy to wrestle with monsters five or six times bigger than them if the challenge arises, and they are likely to win. Although they enjoy the sport, Kobolds never gamble.

image.png
My enemy team chose this monster for the 1st place. This monster has 2 melee attack and 2 speed and 3 health. It is a monster from fire splinter from Untamed Edition.

Goblin fireballer:

The Goblin Fireballers of the Smoldering Forest have learned to make powerful flame weapons from the sap of the Everburning Trees that grow there. They launch fireballs with slings or catapults, or by simply rolling them down a hill.

image.png
My enemy team chose this monster for the 2nd place. This monster has 1 ranged attack and 1 speed and 2 health. It is a monster from fire splinter from Untamed Edition.

Serpentine spy:

Serpentines are naturally sneaky, but their highly-trained spies can infiltrate even the most secure bases in the Splinterlands. They wear minimal armor, because they are never caught. Retractable miniature spears are the chosen weapon of the Serpentine Spies; they can be hidden easily and brandished quickly for many uses.

image.png
My enemy team chose this monster for the 3rd place. This monster has 2 melee attack and 3 speed and 1 health. It is a monster from fire splinter from Untamed Edition.

Spark pixies:

In the Burning Lands, the force of electricity is barely understood; it is considered a form of fire. These small but powerful living sparks bring fire through the natural electricity they carry. They are extremely fast, and as a group, they can burn a village in mere minutes.

image.png
My enemy team chose this monster for the 4th place. This monster has 2 ranged attack and 5 speed and 1 health and FLYING ability. It is a monster from fire splinter from Untamed Edition.

Step 03: Positioning
My Positioning: Total mana for the battle was only 15 so I had to chose my monsters wisely. First I chose the summoner that wastes 3 mana. I had 12 mana left to use. Then I chose Unicorn mustang for the 1st position cause it has good melee attack and good speed and good health as well and it wastes 8 mana. I had 4 mana left to use. Then I chose Khmer princess for the 2nd position for wasting only 2 man and having magic attack. I had now 2 mana left to use. Then I chose Xenith archer at the 3rd or last place that has ranged attack and wastes 2 mana. There I've used all the mana but still there were 3 slots left but I had nothing to do with that.

My Enemy Team's Positioning: After choosing Pyre as summoner that wastes 3 mana, my enemy team then chose Kobold Bruiser for the 1st position that has melee attack and wastes 3 mana. My enemy had 9 mana left to use. Then my enemy team chose Goblin fireballer for the 2nd position that has ranged attack and wastes 2 mana only. My enemy had 7 mana left to use. Then my enemy team chose Serpentine spy for the 3rd position that has melee attack and wastes 3 mana. My enemy had 4 mana left to use. Then my enemy team chose Spark pixies for the 4th or last position that has ranged attack and wastes 4 mana. There my enemy team has used all the mana but still there were 2 slots left but had nothing to do with that.

Combat: My enemy team first attacked friendly team. Spark pixies of my enemy team attacked with 2 ranged attacks and Unicorn mustang of friendly team lost 2 health. Then Unicorn mustang of friendly team attacked with 3 melee attacks and Kobold bruiser of enemy team lost total health. Serpentine spy of enemy team then attacked with 2 melee attacks and Khmer princess of friendly team lost total health. Xenith archer of friendly team then attacked with 1 ranged attack and Goblin fireballer of enemy team lost 1 health. Then Spark pixies of my enemy team attacked again with 2 ranged attacks and Unicorn mustang of friendly team lost 2 health. hen Unicorn mustang of friendly team attacked with 3 melee attacks and Goblin fireballer of enemy team lost total health. Then Serpentine spy of enemy team then attacked with 2 melee attacks and Unicorn mustang of friendly team lost 2 health. Then Xenith archer of friendly team then attacked with 1 ranged attack and missed this attack. Then Spark pixies of my enemy team attacked with 2 ranged attacks and Unicorn mustang of friendly team lost 2 health. Then Unicorn mustang of friendly team attacked with 3 melee attacks and Serpentine spy of enemy team lost total health. Then Xenith archer of friendly team then attacked with 1 ranged attack and missed this attack. Then Unicorn mustang of friendly team attacked with 3 melee attacks and Spark pixies of enemy team lost total health. My enemy team lost the battle at round 4.

Battle 02: Earth VS Earth - Battle Link, 1 Monster VS 2 Monsters

image.png

Step 1: Choosing Summoner
My Summoner: Obsidian

I chose Obsidian as summoner from earth splinter. This is a RARE Earth Summoner of Chaos Legion edition.

The fearsome woman now known as Obsidian grew up in the remote village of Stonebluff as the last remaining Earth mage. Each year, Earth elementalists went off to compete in the contest, leaving Obsidian to train the next generation of warriors. She wished to join the contest of champions, but the village elders advised her against it, saying she needed to stay behind and focus on training others to use Earth magic. AND more.

image.png
This summoner gives +1 magic attack to all friendly magic attack monsters.

Enemy's Summoner: Wizard of Eastwood

My enemy team chose Wizard of Eastwood as summoner from earth splinter.

This summoner snatches away -2 armor from all enemy monsters.

Step 2: Choosing Monsters
My Monsters VS Enemy's Monsters

image.png

My Monsters:
I chose only Unicorn mustang.

I chose this monster for the 1st place. This monster has 3 melee attacks and 1 speed and 10 health and VOID ability. It is a monster from earth splinter from Untamed Edition.

Enemy's Monsters:
My enemy team chose Orc sergeant and Goblin thief.

Orc sergeant:

The Lyverian army has found that troops are best trained by an Orc. Their ugliness scares recruits into line, and they are always shouting and snarling, even when calm. Orcs and their families are well rewarded in seed coins for their service to the Kingdom of Lyveria.

image.png
My enemy team chose this monster for the 1st place. This monster has 1 melee attack and 2 speed and 6 health and REACH ability. It is a monster from earth splinter from Untamed Edition.

Goblin Thief:

Thieving comes naturally to most Goblins, but they rarely steal from one another in the city of Gobson. Instead, Goblin Thieves travel the Splinter, patrolling highways and raiding caravans. Thieves can usually be recognized by their heavy clothing, under which they conceal numerous knives and other weapons. But don’t worry. Their blades are used more to terrorize than to mutilate.

image.png
My enemy team chose this monster for the 2nd place. This monster has 2 melee attack and 2 speed and 3 health and SNEAK ability. It is a monster from earth splinter from Untamed Edition.

Step 03: Positioning
My Positioning: Total mana for the battle was only 12 so I had to chose my monsters wisely. First I chose the summoner that wastes 4 mana although it was no use as I've then chose only monster that's not magic attack monster. I had 8 mana left to use. I chose Unicorn mustang for the 1st and only position cause it has good melee attack and good speed and good health as well and it wastes 8 mana. There I've used all the mana but still there were 5 slots left but I had nothing to do with that.

My Enemy Team's Positioning: After choosing Wizard of eastwood as summoner that wastes 3 mana, my enemy team then chose Orc sergeant for the 1st position that has melee attack and wastes 5 mana. My enemy had 4 mana left to use. Then my enemy team chose Goblin thief for the 2nd position that has melee attack and wastes 4 mana. There my enemy team has used all the mana but still there were 4 slots left but had nothing to do with that.

Combat: Friendly team first attacked my enemy team. Unicorn mustang of friendly team attacked with 3 melee attacks and Orc sergeant of enemy team lost 3 health. Then Goblin thief of my enemy team attacked with 2 melee attack and Unicorn mustang of friendly team lost 2 health. Then Orc sergeant of my enemy team attacked with 1 melee attack and Unicorn mustang of friendly team lost 1 health. Then Unicorn mustang of friendly team attacked with 3 melee attacks and Orc sergeant of enemy team lost total health. Then Goblin thief of my enemy team attacked with 2 melee attack and missed this attack. Then Unicorn mustang of friendly team attacked with 3 melee attacks and Goblin thief of enemy team lost total health. My enemy team lost the battle at round 3.
