Splinterlands - Battle Mage Secrets: Explosive Weaponry

Hello again fellow Splinterfans, and once again, welcome back to my Splinterlands blog, this is my second post for today, I made my Social Media Challenge post about the new 'Five Alive' ruleset earlier today, did you see it?

I had some household chores to do first, real life and all... well it's nice to alternate jobs, 3 hours of typing is bad for my eyes and mind.. 😅

This weeks Battle Mage Secrets Challenge is about the Explosive Weaponry ruleset, and I've had a pretty explosive battle to share recently!

All units gain the Blast ability.
Additional damage is equivalent to main damage divided by 2, rounded up.
Include a unit with Reflection Shield in your lineup to absorb blast damage and protect your back line.

The battle I want to share for this post is a 43 mana Diamond 3 Wild League battle with a pretty interesting ruleset combination: Wands Out / Explosive Weaponry / Odd Ones Out, well the latter is just annoying, halving your deck but my opponent has the same problem! As soon as I saw this combination, I knew what I was going to play, reflect the blast damage and amplify it! What to expect from my opponent though? Thadius would be the most obvious choice, nerfing the magic damage by 1, but then you will have even less cards to choose from - Death only... choices... choices...

First look at the battlefield:

No Thadius, that's nice, so I've for more magic damage output, I wish it would be visible if this is a bot or not... I get the line-up, void up front, high HP in second position to soak up the blast damage and triage his health back up, it's a sound strategy, mine is just better.. 😁
Quix isn't doing a lot here besides giving access to the Dragon splinter, but as my Gladiator summoners are still below Gold level because I played Silver for a long time, I can't use them or have my card levels capped.

My Line-Up:

  • Summoner: Quix the Devious - reason: Access to the Dragons.
  • First position: Agor Longtail - reason: Fire Control (Taunt), double attack, void armor, high HP.
  • Second position: Djinn Muirat - reason: Good damage, good HP, Spell Reflect.
  • Third position: Void Dragon - reason: Void.
  • Fourth position: Cabalist - reason: Amplify - to crank up the Spell Reflect.
  • Fifth position: Death Elemental - reason: Snipe to get max. blast damage.

The Battle:

Round 1: DAMN! That didn't went well for the other team! 😆 the team got halved already with only 11 HP in total to kill off now while my front line is only lightly damaged.

Round 2: OK... for a reasonably high mana battle, this went crazy fast! wow! Death Elemental made the final kill and it's already over!

That was fun! It was just like any weekend really, fun but way too short! Good amount of RP and SPS, considering it's Wild League.

Well, that's the work that needed to be done for this week, it's always nice to make a post about a battle but not as fun as the battle itself, I hope to see you again next week, it's over for today with Splinterlands for me, I need to let my battle energy recharge for a day before I'm able to fight again, I mean... I've got some left but I'm already at 8 chests, with every chest I'll need more RP for the next one.

Hmmm... maybe fight for one more chest??? 😁
