Wingbreak and Ambush, a great combination when you expect Flying units!

Hey you all, now I'm making more Splinterlands content again I realize how much I use my Dragons π well you can't blame me... they're just awesome!
Most fights I have I am the underdog and I'm fighting against higher level opponents, this time around I was the higher level player but facing Nidhogr that's no guarantee for success at all!
In the previous battles I could see Nidhogr and with only the Dragon and Life splinters allowed, I knew what to prepare for, I like to counter what I think my enemy will play and when I expect dragons, I like to bring my two flying counters, best used against Rage but they work great against all flying monsters, especially when combined with Akane.

Looking at the enemy team, this line-up is not right... I wonder if @jiiee was out of time, it happens to me a lot as well that I am distracted on another tab while waiting for an opponent and I only have a short time left to assemble my team. π
With the Blast ruleset, you would want a unit with Deflect in the seconds position to stop the blast damage, but while my Night Reaper has it, the level 1 Night Reaper in the other team doesn't so that's a big difference in this battle. Also that Caravan Guard should be farther to the back, and I would have put the Godsnot Sorceress all the way to the back because it's the main damage dealer, you would want it to last as long as possible, I'm not complaining though because sometimes easier fights are very welcome after facing higher level opponents and it's not the main reason why I'm sharing this fight, it's about what's about to happen with the enemy Night Reaper... π

Obviously I gave the Ambush ability my Archon brings to both units with Wingbreak, Desolation and Night Reaper. This time it's super effective because of the added Blast ruleset.
My opponent choose to give the extra speed and Execute ability to the back of the team, good choice.
Nidhogr is a really, really nice Archon!

I usually bring this Ambush / Wingbreak counter to quickly kill Rage, but it works even faster against Night Reaper and it didn't even survive long enough to make it to round 1... π

You can watch the battle unfold for yourself here.
The power balance in this battle was a lot in my favor and before round 3 could start, the battle was over.

This battle was from two seasons ago, but because I was time crunched I couldn't make a post about it sooner. Well, it's nice to see the Easter arena again. π

It was like a mismatch π.I have learnt another way to counter the blast ruleset; Deflect.Thank you warrior, more wins as you rank up!
My second unit has the Deflect ability to counter the blast π
Yes I saw that, Night Reaper!
!LOLZ the night reaper was dead even before the battle really started.
I hate it for its magic power when I play against it.
