Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge / Victory and Defeat: Learning to Wield Surgeblade

Peaceful day to you, dear fans of gaming on Hive.

How are you doing?

It is a beautiful day here in the Cotonou city and I have a great story to tell you about the young warrior not too popular who is making waves in the arena.

The highlight of this presentation is the melee warrior from water element. I know some of my regular reader will share some critics about the renewed exploration of water warriors in this series of presentation.

I will say that the random selection of the cards in this weekly challenge entries favors the water section of the card's collection. It is pure coincidence.

SurgeBlade has so much to offer in the right combination of cards and setup in terms of rulesets.

Here are the reasons no gold digger in Splinterlands should not ignore this hidden gems.

A /. What makes Surgeblade special?

I took a short view on the description of the battle characteristic on Surgeblade profile. The parameters become interesting when you level up your cards to the level 8 then the maximum level 10. As you know, all cards with blast in his list of ability show great interest to the players. The fact that it is a melee card does not limit his role in the others position except the first row due to "Charge".

B /. Strategy at play in this victorious battle

Surgeblade is super effective after the combination of the 400 copies that will unlock the blast ability and the 4 point of attacks combined with five point of armor.

It is a weak warrior against magic attacks. However, the capability to strike from any position give a chance to SurgeBlade to play his part far from the front row.

In this spirit, the player offered a lineup that fit this consideration to boost his offensive action in the arena

--

Surgebade is at the back, striking enemy position. His protection against magic attack was represented by all the cards with reflection magic and void armor place in front of the line.

Clanktrap had enough magic attacks to destroy the enemy, but the defense of Singariel held stronger than expected. It was a beautiful team work that led to the victory.

Clanktrap was a very powerful summoner, level up to higher ranking compared to the SurgeBlade team summoner.

Cool Battle Won

  • Victory in the arena with SurgeBlade team

This combat was interesting to watch, but I would not put too much of concentration to replicate this lineup due to the gap of experience between Lorkus and the opposition summoner.

--

SurgeBlade summoner had a large advantage of experience in this battle, which does not allow the learner to really evaluate this performance in this situation. It was a cool experience though.

C /. Complications on the battlefield!

In the review of most battles where Surgeblade was present in the arena, I found that players does not maximize the level of this powerful warrior.

If you want to get the maximum out of these cards, it is imperative to bring his level to the required ranking point of the league you find the matches.

The situation where Surgeblade lost the battle was either a misunderstanding of the ruleset or a lack of power to protect his position.

  • Terrible defeat on the battlefield

In this battle Surgeblade team should have won this game, but the strategy on the other side of the board dominated in the last round.

--

The healing from the wild summoner Lily helped a lot in this intensive combat. Magic defenses were up to the point on both side of the board. Possibilus created the surprise with Demonic associate.

Loss 1

  • Second battle Lost because of Magic attacks

Defense weakness was exploited by the adversary team. SurgeBlade could not do anything in this situation.

--

It is very important to consider the element that will protect your melee position in the lineup against the magic attacks flying from the enemy camp.

Battle lost n2

--

Surgeblade is a perfect asset to add for substitution in a set-up where the back line need melee warriors. If the front line is not well-built to withstand magic assault, it is not wise to place Surgeblade in the team.
