Thinking outside the box - Silver for less 30 DEC/DAY (ENG/FR)

While browsing splintertalk, I could see a lot of players offering different decks to go from Bronze to Silver. Some offered a very strong deck of a specific color, others indicated a few cards, mostly epic or legendary in a few different colors.

It seems that there are no problems. But looking closer, the recurring problem was the cost of the cumulative rentals to be around 100 to 400 DEC / DAY, depending on Silver 3 or 1.

I'll teach you something. You don't need Legendary to upgrade Silver 1/2/3. You don't need to play a particular color. The most important thing is to have the necessary Collection Power, an assortment of useful cards and to play the rules / the opponent before worrying about our cards.

Renting

First, we will rent a certain number of useful cards. Here, we are not looking for the card that wins every time, but strong cards in certain situations. We aim for LVL 1 and less than 1 DEC / DAY

For example, here is what I am currently renting:

myLoc.PNG

Here is a non-exhaustive list of interesting cards:

  • Neutral: Creeping ooze, Goblin mech, Sand worm
  • Green: Nectar queen, Screeching Vulture, Centauri Mage
  • Blue: Sea monster, Venari Wavesmith, Kelp initiate
  • White: Djinn Renova, Lorna Shine, Crystal Werewolf
  • Red: Fineas Rage, Lava Launcher, Pyromancer
  • Black: Owster Rotwell, Venari Bonesmith, Grim Reaper
  • Dragon: Djinn Chwala, Brighton Bloom

We agree, the most important thing is to have the power to upgrade to the next level. For that, not much to say.

Go on Peakmonster, we sort by "CP per DEC / Day", we aim for cards with more than 500 CP for 1 DEC / DAY and we pray to succeed in renting the card before the others (Can quickly reduce your Resource credits if you have little Hive Power).

Once your cards are rented at a satisfactory price, don't forget to renew your rentals, most people rarely change the cost of renting their cards.

Thinking outside the box

At the start of each game, before choosing which cards to play, there are several points to think about.

First, we look at the rules of the fight. This is the most important point. A simple combat modifier can change the way you see the game. Some cards that are usually weak or bad can be much stronger in certain situations.

For example, let's take a simple rule like Reverse speed.

Many make the mistake of continuing to use Serpentine Spy but Parasitic Growth is much better if you use Malric as a Summoner.

The parasite will attack first and have a better chance to dodge.

Another example for the "Super Sneak" rule (All cards have sneak)

The "Super Sneak" rule gives Sneak all cards. Why I always see Kobold mining instead of a Cocatrice, I still wonder.

Same cost, attack and life but 1 more speed and Fly

We can go further and combine 2 rules. For example: Equalizer and Super Sneak (The cards have HP equivalent to the highest and all the monsters have Sneak)

Exploding Rats look weak when we see it but let's give it HP with "Equalizer" and the ability to attack from anywhere with "Super Sneak" and here we have a very powerful card for its cost.

All this to say that the rules are not just constraints limiting you to certain cards. They are a way of reinterpreting the game and opening up other possibilities.

Play the opponent

It is important to understand your opponent. To do this, you have to quickly study the last 5 Decks used and try to identify the strategy it uses.

  • What color does he play first?
  • Lots of magic cards?
  • Anti-magic?
  • Mylor?
  • ...

We try to know what he will play and counter if possible.

  • He plays Alric? Luckily we rented Owster Rotwell or Crystal Werewolf.
  • He likes to play anti-magic? What have we been playing lately? Magical ? Counter the counter :)
  • ...

A single card rented at 0.X DEC / Day can win a game if it is played at the right time.

Thanks for everyone reading this and to support me.

  • Neutral: Creeping ooze, Goblin mech, Sand worm
  • Green: Nectar queen, Screeching Vulture, Centauri Mage
  • Blue: Sea monster, Venari Wavesmith, Kelp initiate
  • White: Djinn Renova, Lorna Shine, Crystal Werewolf
  • Red: Fineas Rage, Lava Launcher, Pyromancer
  • Black: Owster Rotwell, Venari Bonesmith, Grim Reaper
  • Dragon: Djinn Chwala, Brighton Bloom

Thinking outside the box
