Yeah, maybe if I had had a bit of time... I remember that I did write a Haiku at least once - hubby was not impressed - LOL - well, I tried.

So, this weekend - it's Sunday night already, the weekend is almost over.

What did I do all weekend?

Well, for starters, Saturday has been pretty hectic, you can read about it here if you like. It was also fun and exciting but all in all quite tiring.

As I mentioned in that post I had started sketching. And as so often when I am a little brain-dead or simply lack inspiration to come up with something new I'll turn to fan art. And these days that means

Splinterlands!

You probably know by now that when I am painting I love to depict the female form of humans. So it will come as no surprise to you that today or rather since yesterday my subject has been the Fire Splinter summoner: Tarsa.

As you see, I didn't really alter her that much but instead tried for a bit of a manga approach - I pretty much failed though. First I had a ton of trouble getting the pose right, I just couldn't decide, so in the end, I settled on this one.

Then I tried my hand once again on cell shading. Pretty much the traditional way comics or manga are shaded i.e. with hard edges. Problem is, I have always preferred the soft and blended style. Here is a side-by-side of the not-quite-finished-piece.

Anyhow, so today we started similar to yesterday but instead of going out to buy things, hubby started working on getting the new tank he got yesterday ready and fitting into our space. That took a really long time. Saws and sanding and screwing etc. etc. were involved. By tonight he was pretty much done.

I, on the other hand, was drawing Tarsa. In between, I helped a little but otherwise just kept hubby company. But, yeah, that's really it. That is / was my weekend. But you know what? I am really happy that I got this little painting done. It isn't great by any means, heck, it isn't even finished. I didn't ink it but left the pencil sketch showing - somehow I kind of like it that way.
